That would be very good. How can the Rockets move upwards from 17 to acquire Murray or Mathurin? Our 2023 pick is important.
If we get Jabari or Chet I wouldn’t move the 2023 pick to move up for Murray or Mathurin, but I might for Sharpe if Stone works him out and thinks he has superstar potential. I would like to use other assets to move up and grab Eason if available. I would also not be upset using the 2023 frp to trade up if we miss out on Jabari or Chet. We need a legit PF with defense and a decent shot this year. If we have to use our 2023 and other assets to trade for a vet like Myles Turner after missing on Chet and Jabari, I would consider that as well.
I like Jabari and Chet. If Houston ends up at 3, I would rather retain the 2023 pick, unless they have terrific workouts with the Rockets. Myles Turner is nice, but I don't want him because of his injury status.
Who says yes? I'd rather have Tari Eason or even Mark Williams but Jeremy Sochan is not bad at #17 either.
I think I trade down to #7 and draft Tari Eason instead in this scenario. Eason and Mark Williams would not be bad haul if outside of top 3.
I have not quite mentally prepared myself for the thought of us not getting Top 4. I know I need to given that it's the most likely outcome, but for whatever reason I've just operated under the assumption we're getting one of the studs. Highly risky jinx move by myself. I'm cool taking Sharpe at 5. The Rockets aren't in role player acquisition mode. They need to take a swing and he's the only guy outside of the Top 4 I could see being a home run.
Just need a little luck one more time. After that it’s all gravy in my opinion. With next years picks, cap space, and the nets picks. Role players galore to fill out the roster. Just need this shoe to drop.
Goes to show how lucky we were not to get boned last season. Would have been forced to give up the pick to the thunders
Tari Ffalls outside the top 10 in a number of mock drafts. I would try and trade back for Keegan Murray in that scenario, play it safe and get a potential 2nd/3rd option do-it-all guy. But it is always tricky getting the right trade scenario worked out!! What else are we able to get out of it??
Did anyone see the Raptors beat the 76ers in Philly with no VanVleet? Only guard starting was Gary Trent. Scottie Barnes was at Point Guard. Raptors only had 8 turnovers. Siakim had 7 assists....everyone else had about 3 each. Who needs "True Point Guards" teams are going more with multiple Combo Guards and/or versatile wings.
i think if you're at #5 and none of the top 4 fall then you trade back and try to get 2 of Murray/Eason/Daniels/Sochan Some team might be desperate to nab Sharpe. I'm not willing to select the mystery box personally.
