Doesn’t really matter. Nobody will know anyway. Point is Orlando was going to win a game at some point in these last stretch of games. Folks seriously tell themselves way too dramatically that these teams just willingly lose. Nah these guys are literally playing for jobs whether it’s with the current situation or someone else
They don't willingly lose but their organizations put out lineups that try to lose. You think the Blazers get another W before the season ends?
People try to use that excuse but bad teams are bad for a reason. Your roster is top to bottom going to lose anyway. Whether it’s your starters or whoever is after them. Portland might have a shot against no, since they’re just getting ready for a play in. Utah and Dallas still have seedings to play for unless they’re content with whatever spot they land
I'm not really sure what that means but right now we have Pacers - 0-8 with a good shot at losing to Philly and BK. Por - 0-8 and a good chance of losing last 3. Orlando - 1-6 with a good shot at losing last 2. Hou - 0-5 with a good shot at losing last 2. That's 4 teams with 1 win in their last 28 games. Guys in the league try to win but there are plenty of teams that don't do it. I never was worried about the Thunder because of their trash schedule and I figured Det would get 1 or 2 wins by playing OKC and the Pacers. Having a fear of bad teams punting the end of the season and losing our or close to it is real. There are 4 teams doing it masterfully right now. Thank goodness one is the Rockets.
That’s cause they suck. That’s the point. The roster isn’t good enough to win regardless. No matter who you put out there. As a collective unit it’s just bad. It’s that simple and was never that dramatic
It's cause they suck and because they benched Wood, Gordon, and Schroeder. The Kings and Spurs games were winnable if those 3 were playing. But I get your point, I just think the way you are trying to defend it is off.
those are the same guys who have been losing all year. and that dates back to last year. doesn't change anything for me bc that logic of assuming the starters would win doesn't apply. bc they've loss way more than they've won for the last 2 years.
Losing to real teams. The Spurs were the only real team during that stretch and they are 11 games below .500. You thought it wouldn't change against the Blazers and it definitely did.
its pretty clear they're playing to make the play ins at this point. rockets weren't going to beat them. rockets have loss to scrub teams all year for the last 2 years thought what? the blazers are a gleague team. who cares about them
The Kings are only a step above the Blazers right now. They threw in the towel weeks ago and the only wins the have in their last 10 outside of the Rockets are two close wins over the magic and pacers. The Rockets at full strength at home could have won both of those. And the team knew it so they shut down the veterans.
The kings literally traded for sabonis to try and make the playoffs. Which was an absolute joke. Doesn’t mean they stopped trying. It was only when sabonis got hurt that they decided to sit him Could have would have should have. The what ifs just don’t matter. As we’ve seen assumptions actually don’t happen the cliche way people think. Bc their was a ton of losing out assumptions for teams like okc, port, det. And we know how that turned out rockets at full strength were still the worst team in the league. Makes no difference
Yeah and we played them after that. They had given up. Portland is actually losing out though. OKC and Det couldn't both lose out because they played each other. Arguing it's ignorant to think teams will lose out because guys are trying is a weak argument when teams are actually losing out. Actually looking at the schedules will give you a better feasibility of it though.
Whether that’s true or not, the coaching staff believes that those guys help us win, which is why they started Wood, Gordon, and Schroeder. Them shutting those 3 down is a sign that we have ramped up our tanking efforts.
You're wasting your time on that one. In any case, it's a big surprise the Rockets are in the position they are in. Thank goodness the FO shut down Gordon and Wood or we probably be siting with 23 wins right now. It's a shame about the Brooklyn pick, but last night pretty much assure Brooklyn the 7th or 8th seed and they will likely make the playoffs. Assuming Minnie can get in as well (won't be easy against the Clippers and possibly Spurs/Pels), but looking like that pick will end up as the 17th. The Rockets should trade Wood, Gordon, and Tate to any team willing to give us a 7-11 pick. Sactown, NOLA, Portland, Charlotte or even possibly the Clippers - especially if they can do it pre-lottery.
not really. what they believe isn't really relevant. the end results have been the same a whole lot of losing. every coaching staff believes their guys help them win. that's what they're supposed to believe. guys get shut down every season for the worst teams in the league. this year isn't any different
Regardless what happens from here on out, a worst case scenario of #6 ain't too bad. Hopefully we get lucky.
