What are your thoughts on this proposed trade? You get Simmons and your Nic Claxton (kid has put on some weight....saw him vs Mavs recently). https://www.inquisitr.com/10003749/nba-rumors-ben-simmons-to-houston-christian-wood-eric-gordon-to Houston in: Ben Simmons / Nic Claxton x Brooklyn in: Eric Gordon / Christian Wood / David Nwaba / 2nd round pick Rockets would get Simmons without Tilman dealing directly with a-Morey
This will be the toughest stretch of the season for us. We could easily fall out of first place for the tank and end up with 22 wins. Especially if Christian Wood and EG decide to play for nothing but stats By comparison Orlando: 3 - (2 against OKC, 1 against Sactown) Detroit: 3 - OKC, Por, Indiana OKC: 5 - Porx2, Orlandox2, Detroit You really have to hope that all of them win 2 games. That means Houston can win 3 of those 5 and still be in a good spot to tie for the worst record.
I'd prefer the Jalen Johnson trade more. But rather a pick back instead of sending a pick in your trade scenario makes more sense. As Simmons value is at its lowest ever so that trade would work. But Rockets fans hate Simmons more than they hate Wood.
Yea if Brooklyn is looking to offload Simmons already that's a red flag I don't see why we would help them out and thus hurt the value of the future draft picks owed. Also I love Ego and want to see him retire a Rocket.
Detroit blew a 12 point lead with about 15 minutes left in the game. That's what good lottery teams do. Seriously, though, they've been playing a lot better lately. I'm kind of sad it isn't translating to their record.
I doubt Nets would do that deal they lose their defensive center and get a bunch of guards when their sole strength is guard play. They gave up multiple picks, Allen and Levert for Simmons, Curry and Drummond highly doubt they'd trade Simmons and Claxton for Wood and EG.
Ben Simmons is in line to be the next “worst contract in the NBA”… Brooklyn will either get lucky and Simmons will come back a stud, or try to move him for pennies on the dollar. I can’t see anyone trading valuable assets for Simmons with that contract, jumper and “back”. Now if they wanna talk a John Wall swap and sending some assets then we should listen.
i rather have kpj play pg then hoping simmons will return. Like if we ever do this trade, KPJ is going to have to be relegated to the bench, unless u want Green to. Simmon's mental is fragile as it is to b benched.
Well there is a lot to unravel in just a few sentences that you provided. Their defensive center? Simmons or Claxton? (Simmons hasn't played a single play for them yet) Get back a bunch of guards? C Wood? Nwaba is like a SF. Bruce Brown is not exactly playing guard, it's like a PF hybrid. ------------------------- The people proposing the deal have it taking place this summer: *Drummond contract expires this season. *Claxton is a 20 mins a game backup that doesn't shoot 3's..,.RFA going into next summer. So they may be losing Claxton anyway. Wood provides spacing for Kyrie and Durant while helping Durant with those long Go-Go gadget arms defensively. *Nets currently need both a 3rd option offensively (Wood gives them that) and anything offensively from the center to PF spot (Wood gives them that) and the Net are high on their rookie center Day'Ron Sharpe making the jump in production next season. One of those, "you can put a scarecrow next to Kyrie and Durant and they make the scarecrow look great," scenarios. *Joe Harris comes back next season with Eric Gordon and Seth Curry providing great depth with Cam Thomas up and coming. Nwaba providing some defense. Forget-about-it ___________________ As we saw last year the Nets outscored everyone when Durant, Kyrie and Harden played and didn't exactly stop anyone defensively.....Kyrie and Harden just both got hurt in the playoffs. If I'm the Nets I would rather be looking at a re-signing of C Wood than Claxton next summer (2023). For me (Houston) it's how's Simmons back physically? Is it just back spasms or a case of something like spinal stenosis? And does he clash with Porters game? I like the potential of Porter-Green and think Simmons might screw that up. But if I can get Porter to pass more and dribble less, then I could get it to work. I'm not that big a fan of Ivey.....I would rather have Porter play as a SF and allow DPOY candidate Simmons to run point on offense. P.S. Durant and Kyrie don't give a rats patutee about the past picks and players given up. They just see their window closing....as does LeBron with that Westbrook stuff at our most recent trade deadline. "It's bring us help now (next year) not would've, should've, could've." For the record Simmons is going to be a stud next to Kyrie/Durant "If healthy" and they don't move him this summer. I just wanted to know D-rocks opinion. If someone thinks C Wood looks amazing taking in lob passes for dunks now.... just wait until Durant and Kyrie are setting C Wood up. That will be criminal. Unfair for the rest of the league.
They have some solid pieces. I am still not sold on Cade though. He is not a very efficient player. His high usage is going to output good numbers on a bad team but the jury is still out long term.

With Simmons on team, KPJ goes to bench not Green. But it's never happening, so discussion is useless. Unless Nets really prefer Wall to Simmons, extremely unlikely.
