David West isn't a bad player, wasn't he an all star a couple of times? More importantly he played in the wrong era, if he played in today's NBA that emphasizes shooting and spacing maybe he would've been much better. Last 3 seasons of his career West shot 40% from 3 after having a career 3 of 28%, leads me to believe he just didn't spend time working on refining his shot till it was too late. As for Banchero he is a lot more physical than West, you can see it in his FTAs per game and rebs per game. Dude is at least a lot more assertive and willing to scrap than West ever was. Jabari is def my first choice though, dude is looking like Giannis with 3 pt shot. Chet can probably do well guarding guys on the perimeter but given his thin frame he ain't guarding guys 4-5. Having length, athleticism and defensive IQ is only part of defense you also need power cuz otherwise opponents will just bump you off. You can see this when Mobley tries to play center, he goes from ROY front runner to total scrub cuz he can't do **** he is too thin. Chet is probably 75% the mass of Mobley so if Rockets draft him he should play the 3 cuz otherwise he is gonna get broken in half by PFs and Cs. Ivey looks good but then again the Rox already have Green, KPJ, Josh Christopher, Brooks, Queen I mean how many young sg prospects do we need? BPA is important but so is practicality especially we aren't sure who is gonna be the best player among the guys in the draft. Prior to the draft everybody had Suggs as the BPA at 4 and had the Raps taking him despite the bad fit with Fred Van Fleet. Well Toronto took Barnes and the rest is history. From what we can see the Rox really need a forward prospect that isn't a 6'4-6'6 midget so emphasis should be on that in the draft. For me it should be Smith Banchero Chet Ivy The rest of the guys in the class look like scrubs so I hope the Rox get a top 3 pick.

Yeah Jabari has moved to number one for me too. For me its Jabari Paolo Chet But Id be ok with Chet over Paolo considering the makeup of this team. But jabari is the clear prize here. Rockets need that number one pick.
It's got to be one of the three big men - Holmgren, Smith or Banchero. All of them have made a case to go #1. If they fall out of the top 3, I can't make up my mind between Jalen Duren to anchor the defense or Keegan Murray playing him as a wing scorer.
Honestly it changes almost every week for me. Last night Jabari killed it and he is my number 1 as well. But I feel like Paolo might be the best rookie right away. Then again we need paint protection, but Chet's weight is really concerning to me but he's tough.
I'm not saying you're wrong because I've only watched Jabari a few times, but prime West was tough as nails, physical, and didn't back down from anyone. He was certainly on the list with guys like Zbo as "guys you don't want to fight" in the NBA.
Who the hell is Sam Veccenie is he a hot take master? This article makes zero sense Cade would not the consensus # 1 in this draft and Green would definitely not be in the top 5. This is the deepest top 10 in several years I have no idea why he thinks the top is solid not spectacular, that was last year not this year.
Uh... What? The top three guys last year would go above everyone in this draft and only Jabari would go above Barnes/Suggs. Veccenie is completely right - and he should be, as her gets his information directly from NBA teams.
No he is not, Green would not go before Chet, Banchero or Smith, Mobley would probably be in there and maybe Barnes, but he would be a surprise. Cade could still be Number one but both Banchero and Smith both have his skillset and are taller, Chet is a unicorn, so he could get bumped up well. All of these so-called NBA experts get stuff directly from NBA teams, why is he so special? There is no way in hell Green gets picked over these top 3 guys.
Based on the narrative around Jalen last year ranging from Beal to Kobe (yurp), he absolutely would go above these guys. Hindsight, obviously isnt kind, but not just us, Green was being touted as an absolute sure fire star before the draft, where there were rumors about the Pistons taking him. So yeah, its all relative and the hype behind Jalen last year was real.
No actual respected scouts were making those comparisons, it was just randoms with an agenda. The fact that Green had so much hype without the actual physical tools makes my point and there were no real rumors that the Pistons were debating taking him, it was more about Cade vs Mobley for the top pic.
