history shows the number of actual guards and wing players that tear their acls/mcls/pcls is much larger than bigs. Folks assuming Chet will get hurt or poses some higher risk is merely giving them a reason to find some kind of knitpick aspect that they can't otherwise find in someone who is dominating the ncaa. Mind you Chet has had 0 injury history to this point despite this thin looking frame to this point of his career and still dominating at every level playing along the way.
This is why I wanted to tank just 2-3 years. This is the best 'soon-to-be available' stars out right now. They're not going to win you a ring without a superior player next to them -- excluding Zion since his career is more likely Oden. If Luka, Tatum, Ja, etc becomes available we will have young talent and picks to send out or be happy to continue to develop the young team and grow organically.
All 3 of these guys are overrated imo. And all 3 have played next to a legit All Star caliber player on their respective teams. Look in a mirror guys.
I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or disagreeing, because there's 6 players in my comment. 3 on the market that I do not want at all unless if I already have a star. There's also 3 guys I'd be willing to forego the organic rebuild for.
Smith or Chet would be completely worth the tank. If we end up with neither... will be a giant waste of time.
Lmao. Zion should not even be rated, I do not consider him a star until he can finish one whole season. #DNP
I was referencing Zion, Dame and Spida. The other 3 are TBD. Would love Jaylen Brown or Ja Morant. I'd trade Jalen Green for either right now.
Hell yea on Morant. I’d trade Jalen, Cade, Mobley, or Scottie for him right now. With Jalen you’d have to add next year’s frp and other picks and even that might do it.
Can always trade back from pick 3? For me it is Smith or trade back and take Griffin + whatever additional assets are on offer in tradeback. A future pick or developing talent might be nice
I'm Smith/Chet, but feel like a trade back to grab Griffin (assuming his medicals clear) would be prudent.
Swap with Portland? If we get #2 I would talk to them about swapping for 7 and 10. I don't trust Chets frame to ever fill out.....
Brooklyn got the Dragon coming off the bench - I just want our picks to be worth something- the nets need to implode!
We did this with Mobley last year I am sure @D-rock remembers how people question his frame and not trusting it
Ya'll missing the point!! A tank job, let alone two in a row, needs to produce a franchise player not a role player. Otherwise, fire everybody in the FO because you can't miss when others around you hit! It would be a tragedy for Rox fans to endure the last few seasons and the next for rotations guys.
For what it is worth, I was an extremely early cheerleader on the Mobley wagon. I dared suggest he might be the 1 pick, and was a no brainer for us at 2 (after the lotto). A. The difference in frame between Mobley and Chet is significant. B. Chet is far less agile and explosive
Jury is still out on last year’s draft producing a franchise player. Not every draft has one available. Mobley has been good but anointing him franchise player is way immature. Is it Cade, Barnes, Suggs? If not, all those FO’s must go!!!
True, the Kenyon Martin and Bargnani drafts were bad. Kenyon Martin barely made the All Stars and that was when Kidd made him one. Given how bad drafts were, I have no problem with Mobley being the face of this draft. Cade and others might be even better in the end but I think it would be close.
I agree (drafts are typically ****) but I didn't choose to tank, the Rox FO did. So yes, any FO opting to tank knowing that entire drafts can suck is a fireable offense. They chose an option (which makes fans suffer btw...) that is proven to fail year after year unless you "hit" on a rare player. Who would do that?! That's no better than playing the lottery. Any idiot here, myself included, can play the lottery.
