Rockets taking close look at UTEP PG Fili Rivera

The native of Puerto Rico, who averaged 13.5 points and 7.2 assists per game last season, is confident that he'll hear his name called Tuesday night.

"I've had 15 total workouts and I've worked out for nine different teams in the past 10 days," Rivera said Saturday, shortly after being put through the paces by the Houston Rockets for a second time. He called Houston, Cleveland, Detroit and Seattle his top four possibilities going into the draft. "There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to be drafted. Hopefully, it'll be in the first round and, if not, the first few picks in the second round."

i like rivera but not at #24. he's a good 2nd round pick but not 1st round material imo. plus the last thing we need is another small guard.

he's got enough assists to impress me, especially for college ball.

If there's one thing the man can do, it's pass the ball. The only thing that makes me wonder about is how well he would fit into the Rockets system. Fili loves to push the ball...I'm not sure how well the half-court game suits him.

I would LOVE to see him become a Rocket, though...
