    HELL NO!!!

Artest was in the right place... On the bench....

No sense in giving the league a reason to do something to Ron...

I also like the fact that Aldeman didn't put Ron back into the game until after everything cooled down..

The best way to stay out of trouble is not to go near it....

That pretty much defines the game and hopefully the season. Awesome 3 by T-Mac.

Shaq was hunting for people to shove! Just watch the last 20 seconds as Shaq shoved TMac, Yao, and going after Rafer.

    I say suspend Rafe/Barnes/Shaq/Nash/Stoudemaire/Barbosa/etc! That's fair! ;)

I think it was Barnes because watching the beginning of the video, you see the tail end of the play where Barnes missed the 2 point blank layups/tip back.

Lol, Rafer did not puncture Nash's neck. If you had watched the game on Espn, you would have heard them say that Nash already had the injury, and it just got reopened during the scuffle.

Nash tho has a tendency of throwing himself into whatever scuffle involving his teammates without trying to make peace first.

I hope there is a poster with tmac standing over him while he was cowering like a little girl on the floor.

Lol, but Rafer didnt have to take that cheap shot, although Rafer had murder in his eyes, i think he would have taken on Shaq too had they allowed it and probably would have died.

Man, the whole thing looked HORRIBLE, especially watching the game live. I tought that was gonna be much more serious, Shaq and Nash just went crazy. I was a little bit concerned that Tracy might be thrown out of the game too.

Good that it ended up as it did.

it looks to me that shaq was there pushing people to the ground to stop the fighting, not escalate. at one point he looks at the ref. and throws his hands up as if to say "i'm not trying to escalate, but i'm trying to help." he's also not pushing with all his force to hurt anyone. he's just trying to get to his players so he can stop them or get between the fighting players. but i don't know what the league considers necessary for punishment. maybe they say he was helping to fuel the situation by pushing vs pulling back his own teammates.

to me, yao should have jumped in between barnes and rafer to separate them, not use his little arms to pull them apart. on that similar note, yao is like a tyrannosaurus rex. he should use his legs to his advantage.

Barnes started it all with an ugly shove. The ref should have gotten there and given a technical. Rafer didn't start fighting right away, but Steve Nash caused things to escalate when he came to Barnes' defense. Rafer shouldn't have gone after Nash. Tracy stood up for Rafer, but Yao and Scola did the right thing to calm things down.Shaq pushed Tracy down which he shouldn't have done, but I didn't feel that he provoked the fight, unlike Nash.
It could have gotten very ugly.

No, Shaq was breaking up the fight, and he did break it up more than anyone else. He basically pushed the Rockets to his left and Phoenix to the right. He might have done T-Mac a big favor by getting him out of the melee. Shaq was the biggest influence on stopping the brawl.

you know we have zero respect when barnes PUSHED alston like that and there was no foul.

tmac looked at the push and was waiting for the foul, no foul so he shot.

people just think about the fight. but how can that push warrant a no call? that's just ridiculous to me.

If the NBA is going to suspend Rafer, let it happen NOW. We can afford to lose a few players for the Spurs game without Parker and Ginobili. But we can't afford to have Brooks starting and playing 30+ minutes against Chris Paul and the Hornets.

I thought this was pretty funny.

    http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/11/did_the_rockets_rise_like_of_a.html

Good stuff in the Rockets locker room when ESPN showed the highlights.

They watched the replays of the rumble, and particularly of Shaquille O'Neal knocking over Rafer Alston, Tracy McGrady and sort of Yao Ming (he mostly pushed Yao and Yao did the rest of the falling on his own).

They found the whole thing funny.

"Weight room," Chuck Hayes shouted. "In the weight room tomorrow, Mac."

"He's 7-2, 360," McGrady responded, his voice raising an octave or two.

Hayes, however, would not let up.

"Macha," he shouted of Rockets strength and conditioning coach Dave Macha. "Macha! Everybody on the court then is in the weight room tomorrow."

It was that sort of win.
