Not surprising to see CDR and Chalmers both playing well. people always underrate basketball players in the draft. paging moes, or anyone else... why is Brandon Rush not playing for Indiana? Is he such a lock to be an amazing rookie that he can skip summer league?
I think they said something about his trade to Indiana not being official so he couldn't play...but it's official now I think so he should be playing.
Its only the Summer League. Our very own John Lucas III was the MVP of the Vegas League a couple years ago. Where is he now? Exactly. Performances in the SL should be taken with a grain of salt. They don't really mean anything. It's nothing more than glorified pick up games with NBA rules. I'd hold judgment until some of these rookies play in actual NBA games.
Indiana has just finalized the trade with the Trailblazers for the draft right sto Brandon Rush. http://www.nba.com/news/baylesssigns_080709.html
Ah right, thanks much. So he'll probably join the summer league now... And Angkor, agree completely, but I'm ready to give moes crap about CDR at any chance. I'd be smarter if I just laid low on that issue...
Just a reminder. I have tickets to the Vegas Summer League and can't use them. If anyone is going and wants tickets, let me know. The dates are for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - 18-20.
NBA.com gives you a live feed. Pretty bad quality and no commentary though, and it's a little bit hard to determine one player from the other.
found an article on Russell Robinson. It's boring, but hey.. it's summer. http://www.kansas.com/249/story/460491.html Robinson looking for shot in NBA BY RICK PLUMLEE The Wichita Eagle Practices for the Houston Rockets' summer-league team officially begin today, but Russell Robinson has been in town since Monday working out with the coaches. Does that surprise anyone? Guys who win without creating a big stir for themselves are usually the ones quietly giving the extra effort. So as the only starter on KU's 2008 national championship team who was not selected in last month's NBA Draft, Robinson has been hard at work trying to prove himself as a rookie free agent. "It doesn't matter how I get there," Robinson said after a Thursday's three-hour workout. "Just so I get there." That's always been Robinson's approach. Do the little things, let the Brandon Rushes, Mario Chalmerses and Darrell Arthurs get the headlines and just go win, baby. That's one big reason why the Jayhawks were 92-16 and won a national title in the games Robinson started at KU. So don't think Robinson is flinching in the face of long odds of sticking with the Rockets. First of all, he doesn't see the odds being so long. "I don't know all the stuff that's going on right now or how it'll play out," he said. "But I've been playing pretty well in the workouts. They're definitely getting a feel for me. They really like me." Robinson took part in two pre-draft workouts with the Rockets, which is why they were quick to call him just minutes after the draft ended to make the offer to sign him for their summer-league squad. He'll be put to the test next week when the Rockets begin playing their summer-league games in Las Vegas. He's one of three point guards on the roster, joining Aaron Brooks and a free-agent rookie, Lanny Smith, out of Houston. For now, Robinson should get his minutes. But the broad picture of the Rockets' point-guard situation is crowded. Rafer Alston is the established starter. He's recuperating from ankle surgery, but he's expected to be at full strength by the time the Rockets' preseason camp opens. Bobby Jackson, a role-playing journeyman acquired in mid-season from New Orleans, is No. 2 on the depth chart. Next is Brooks, the Rockets' first-round pick out of Oregon in 2007 who averaged 11.9 minutes while playing 51 games this past season. Veteran Steve Francis, who just had the option year on his contract picked up by the Rockets, backs up both the point and shooting guards. Alston turns 32 later this month, Jackson is 35 and Francis is 31. The Rockets will again carry four point guards, so there's room for a new kid in town if he shows his stuff quickly enough. Robinson has a Plan B if an NBA gig doesn't pan out for now. He's had offers from overseas. Holland is particularly pushing to bring him over. "Right now I'm just focusing on doing well with Houston and then make a decision," he said. Focus has always been the strength of Robinson's game. That's why he didn't let himself lose it after he didn't join five of his former KU teammates in being drafted. "I was disappointed in the sense it was my life-long dream to be drafted," he said. "But there are no guarantees even if you go in the second round, so this is OK. As a free agent, I was able to pick the team where I thought I have the best chance of making it. "What more could I want? Now it's just a matter of making the most of the opportunities when I'm out there. I can still get there."
Haha...don't think so. Someone on here was possibly going and needed tickets, but I can't remember who it was.
it was me I am still going for that weekend, are you in vegas and would meet for a pickup or how would it be arranged?
