Forbes is nice... he played some SF in college too. I've seen him play in person and hes got size. He can shoot the three and create his own shot. He could be a sleeper to make the roster.
PG-Aaron Brooks SG-Gary Forbes SF-Donte Greene PF-Joey Dorsey C-Loren Woods This will surely be the lineup.
I was doing some quick research this Gary Forbes guy might make the team. Good stats and has an agressive attack the basket kind a game with a nice jumpshot. His 3 point percentage is like 29% but that is the only downside i see.
It appears Gustavo Barrera and Rudy Fernandez were teammates playing for DJK Juventut. Fernandez made it. Barrera stuck with the dreaded potential tag. http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ http://www.muevetebasket.es/cont.php?id=111 http://www.muevetebasket.es/cont.php?id=112
Like YoYo said, the Rockets traded the rights to Malick Badiane in the Bobby Jackson trade. However, don't feel bad, though. We did get the rights to Sergei Lishouk. Neither will ever play in the NBA.
Joe Jones is a guy who was in the wrong system his senior year. He would have been drafted late 1st rd if he left after his sophomore year. He has an NBA body. When his motor gets going he can be a real force, but its hard to get him going. Mario Williams type mentality (coming out). He isn't explosive off the jump, doesn't block shots, and only rebounds when motivated and playing aggressive. He is a good man to man defender but wouldn't intimidate any shots coming off the weak side. He does have great hands and a soft touch, he can shoot from 20ft effectively. Shooting touch + muscular physique is rare, a casual observer may compare him to Karl Malone in that sense. He won't make the team but he may find a place in the NBA.
I was always a fan of Jaaber in the limited times i saw him play. He's got some ups for a PG too: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ANJToInGsDU&feature=related
Yeah this Forbes kid looks good. I think he's a diabetic though. Probably why he didn't get drafted. If he can learn how to play D and hit a 3 than just maybe we got something.
