I googled Rockets tv ratings and this thread popped up. Instead of starting a new one, I just bumped this one. Hopefully your mind doesn't explode.

I just don't get the point of bumping a 2 year old thread where the title doesn't match your question.

It's not like you are saving paper by posting in a really old thread.

Yeah, but using quick reply was a lot easier than posting a new thread title, I'll tell you that.

    haha.

    he does have a point.

for the average reader the thought process goes like this:
sees thread, reads title, WHAT?? rockets don't have good tv ratings??, reads some of the first post, wait..this is from 2012..oh..let me find the last page..

I like Bull --I think hes actually quite insightful and explains some of the plays really well to a layman.

Clyde, though --hey, at least he won us a ring

I'm mad you necrobumped an old thread out of your own laziness and selfishness. I know the answer to your question, but now I won't tell you because you didn't start a new thread.

It's not just the viewers getting screwed, just look at the empty seats in the bottom level during the first half of games. Les is selling those tickets to people who honestly don't give a damn about the Rockets, or basketball in general.

I reckon if you took a poll on a random game night and asked some of those pieces of **** in the bottom level who Vernon Maxwell was, most of them couldn't answer the question. These are the people sitting in the bottom level of Toyota Center right now.

And the problem with this is??? What do you suggest, that he take a poll of your Rockets knowledge before selling lower bowl tickets? Lets get real, this is the real world, those people pay good money for those seats. There is no businessman in the face of this world who would walk away from that...
Furthermore, if you don't like that fans with a dearth of knowledge sit in the lower bowl, I suggest you buy the lower bowl out, and distribute the tickets in the way of your choosing. I am sure Les would be fine with that.

My question is why is this a problem here, but doesn't seem to be one with other top teams? It really bothers me how empty the lower bowl is on most nights.

I don't know what the solution is, but I wish they would at least try to fix it.

I haven't been able to find an article on this year's ratings, but I'm sure it would be hurt by comcast not being available with common providers. I haven't heard if ROOT is more widely available.

Did you happen to notice how the camera crew screwed up a few times during the Sacramento game? Toward the end of the game, there were a few shots of the stands from the floor, and it was almost totally empty. I only remember because they almost never show that kind of thing - it looked REALLY bad.

So it's not just Houston. That was Sacramento, supposedly one of the best fan-bases in the league.
