Well its useful in telling you lineup weakness and the mix/match game you need to improve on. If you have a starting 5 with a +40, then swap in 5 bench guys who go -50, and you lose by ten, that is useful information. Furthermore, if the Kings starters have a heavy positive net rating, that means you have not seen them being blown out. Its likely other lineups which have lost the leads their starters have built. I would encourage you to visit the popcorn machine, which helps show this http://www.popcornmachine.net/
It's pretty funny you mention the Heat game which is the one game we didn't start this lineup and went down by a million points in the 1st quarter.
I can understand the kings hate, but Phoenix is one game back of being first in the west. Like others have said, its early. Things haven't sorted themselves. That said, someone has to occupy the leader boards in statistical categories and with the way this team started I'll take any positive looking info I can. Not going to write this team off yet and not going to pencil them in as a legit contender either. But I've been happy with the progress of the last few games and I'm very happy that they self reflected on the effort they were giving because the last two games they pretty much had good effort throughout the game despite the momentum swings. I'm encouraged.
I can’t recall did Ego play that entire qtr though, thought he subbed out around 7 min mark (yeah they were down by about 20 at that point so it’s a fair point I suppose) but we also got ripped the next 2 quarters as well.
The Kings have only lost by more than 10 twice this season, yet you’ve seen them get blown out multiple times? This is why you can’t take anyone seriously if they don’t understand how stats work.
Rockets actually outscored Heat by 3 points through the rest of the game. The starters that game (with Gordon over House) were -114.5 netrtg in 11 minutes. The 'real' starters referenced in the OP with House didn't play a single minute cause the sub rotation was all changed.
Man, Gordon just has to get in shape. I'd like to see what our net rating would be if he just scored at his career averages. Gordon is the one who's going to be finishing games in the future.
Yeah Gordon’s been **** to start the season then he started pressing. I hope he calms down and gets back to being that ice cold 6th man
Wow that's very interesting (and concerning) to know, kind of odd because I recall Ego playing solid D in 17-18, and at times last year, he really has fallen off on both sides of the ball this year !
