The Rockets are adding depth to the roster. Glen Rice will probably be the starter. This team needs to start somewhere while reloading.

While I'll agree that losing Posey does hurt, adding Piatkowski and A. Griffin helps soften the blow. The Rockets have now have a player that can play defense, which is something the team sorely lacked.

Whether that "Big Splash" happens or not, I'm looking forward to the beginning of the season.

DOn't get me wrong here. I like the move, but I guess i'm just mad about the past offseasons. If we can sign all our garbage for all that money. I was soo set on having Posey back. Of all the years the Rockets decide to get stingy with their money, it had to be the one player i actually liked the most. STUPID MOOCHIE, STUPID MO, STUPID CATO.. that's all i can say... I still think we need a sf unless Nachbar can really play...

Point taken, but I think Walt just got hot from the 3 point line and Nellie had to play him.

Too bad this guy can't shoot. 29% career three point percentage. Yao isn't going to get many assists kicking it out to either Griffin.

From looking at Adrian's stats he looks like a shorter poor man's James Posey. I guess you take what you can get when you are strapped for cash.

My hopes are not too high. It is nice to get Pike and Griffin since we are losing Posey, but I would not expect this guy to see any large amounts of PT. It adds some depth to our squad which will come into play when Rice gets a little banged up. But all in all, a nice move... we HAD to get somebody unless we're taking walk-ons this year!

Not true. Griffin got slightly injured in the middle of the Kings series, and Walt became a starter in the Spurs series after the Nowitzki injury.

Against Portland, Griffin got more minutes. Against the Kings, Griffin got 2 starts and more minutes in the 1st 3 games, then injured. Against the Spurs, looks like it was headed back to Griffin, until Nowitzki went down.

I like verse's Mario Elie comparison, even though Griffin doesn't have Elie's classic set shot. He definitely adds a different mental aspect to this team; Rice is the only veteran we had, and he he was former superstar. Guys like Pike and Griffin are in the league because they're willing to play hard and we can use that sort of experience.

This is a very solid pickup; fact is he's a guy that can fit into the rotation. He may or may not start, but can definitely cover some minutes.

Keep in mind, Griffin started over half the games on the team with the best record in the NBA. Even more fun with numbers, the Mav's winning percentage in games he started (they went 36-12, for .750) was actually slightly higher than their actual percentage on the season.

So obviously, he's not good enough to play on a team that didn't make the playoffs last year.

Hey, none of the players you mentioned play sf. KG and Dirk are C-PF, and Tmac is G. Maybe in your book, Shaq, TD, and Kobe also play sf?

    A. Griffin is a bit short, but he is not going against any long superstars.

But if they signed him with minimum, it worths.

Any thing beyond that and we cannot sign a decent PG will be disappointing.

He can knock down the open jumper. I wouldn't greenlight him anything beyond the arc though. But very dependable mid range game.

HOW COME THE ROX DONT PURSUE Jimmy Jackson.. Jimmy is very good player... He is actually a starter.. He is a superstar to my opinion but getting moved around to much just made him sink lower and lower... I think the rox should pursue Jimmy.... He is a great player and its worth the money... I think he is even taking minimum contracts..

Dallas has an unstoppable offensive team who can absorb Griffin's worthless offensive game. We don't have that luxury. We go through stretches when nobody, and I mean nobody can score.

That's like saying Pargo was a starter for LA so how bad can he be. Bad.

I can't help it, I sort of hate you.

But this is a very important part of the huge section of the exciting and momentous category of the stuff called : No Big Deal.

He's a decent player, a role player, and he adds secondary value. I like getting him a hell of a lot better than I liked getting Rice, for the exact same reason; he's not redundant. He has value without scoring, which, when you score like Adrian, is kind of important.

All in all a yawn, but not an unhappy one.
