Solid wing player. I think he'll end up starting and playing his role nicely.

    Hopefully the price is right.

Just thinking about Yao/Cato/Griffin on the front court playing zone will be very scary for penetrators on the opposing team.

This is a good, solid pickup. Since it seems the Rockets have opted for the status quo offseason, getting Pike and A. Griffin with small contracts are excellent roster moves.

Maybe you'd like to not let Posey go, but at some point, you have to stop giving every single player on your roster a big contract. That way, down the road, you can still contend in the free agent market.

These are solid, small acquisitions that allow us to be players in the future (next year when Rice comes off our cap?) market.

Griffin is a role player at best.

Isn't that exactly what we need? Is our team in dire need for more superstars? Griffin seems like a perfect fit. Next good pickup needs to be: Mark Jackson, PLEASE.

I was thinking along the same lines, but what about a Mobley/Rice package? It would very attractive to a team looking to unload a star with a big contract...let the speculation begin.

Exactly how I feel, DarkHorse. We have to take it easy with the checkbook for a few years until we are true contenders, which I think we will be in 2 or 3 years. THEN, we'll make a "big splash" because we'll be able to afford it.

    Good move.

Nope, when Rice comes off they will still be over t he cap, I bellieve.

The cap friendly future of which you speak is not till 06 and 07, when garbage like moochie, taylor, etc comes off the cap.

IF he were 3 inches taller i would be very happy with this pick up.... but he is no different than playin piat at the 3. same size. we will get dominated by the big sf.. KG... Dirk..... Tmac... maybe even Rasheed if they decide to start randolph....

Thank God. I hope this removes all speculation of trading Mobley cause I love the guy.
Can someone describe Griffin a little better? I remember seeing him in some games but didn't really pay attention to him. Can someone post a type of scouting report?

I LIKE IT!!! When I think of AG, I think of HARD-NOSED DEFENDER!!!

Althought Posey is leaving, I feel like the addition of AG and Pike makes the Rockets a better team from last year...

I like how we are filling out with veteran ROLE PLAYERS!!!
We have enought young talent and 'PROJECTS' on the team...

Also, back in 2001, Adrian Griffin signed a 2-year, $1.2 million contract with the Mavs. That said, I assume he'll get the VETERAN MINIMUM with the Rockets.

I liked him with the Mavs. Didn't he have some good games against us?
