I don't suppose we would have anything to offer Memphis that could possibly be worth Thabeet? Other than Shane and Dorsey (local favorites) or one of our power forwards?

Not that it's a plan for success, just one for getting younger and faster on the court.

They already tried to get the #2 pick, which Memphis used to get Thabeet. And it didn't work out, so it's safe to assume the parties don't see a deal that worked for both.

Id take Millsap just because he is young and has potential. Not that we really need any more PF. If we could trade one of our other PF for a center or shooter, then I'd try for Millsap.

I was real big into trying to acquire camby, but when yao went down, i dont really see the point. Hes too old unless he was backing up yao on a title contending team.

ARGH!!!! It's killing me having to wait for more news.. I have clutchfan syndrome where I click on the refresh button 20 times an hour. I'm sick, yes I know but this wait period stinks.

Are we really getting Theo or Joel P? Do we still have a chance with Gortat or Amare? Will Battier stay or be traded? What are we going to do with the MLE money? Damnit I have to much time on my hands to worry about this

I am with you...now that I have this Okafor thing in my head its driving me nuts...it makes to much sense but as always it takes two to tango. I would kill for a Battier and Brooks to Portland for Fernandez, Outlaw, Bayless along with Landry, Cook and Barry to Charlotte for Okafor...ITS DRIVING ME NUTS

I think we need to keep the young nucleus of Brooks, Scola, Landry, and Ariza together. Scola and Landry are very complimentary of each other. And Aaron Brooks is on his way too stardom in my opinion. I think the best we can do right now in free agency would be to offer a small contract to Oh Boy Oberto and guarantee him a starting position. He's not an offensive of defensive juggernaut but him and Scola would have great chemistry on both ends.

Yep I still want him but this is why the Rox wont do it. Although if Morey is the genius we all think he is....LOL

Way too much! He is good but not really a franchise player that you can build around.

Okafor averaged a double-double last season, but he's way overpayed. He maximized his potential at UConn, just as Sean May did at Carolina. I don't want either one of them.

I disagree. Okafor would be an ideal fit for Adelman's system but as you said, he's wayyyy overpaid. But that's life in the NBA these days as a lot of guys happen to be overpaid. I happen to think that this is one situation the Rockets won't be able to fix in a trade because I simply don't see why other teams would make any of the deals I'm seeing proposed around here.

The team should not get tied down on a player that is not consider a franchise player. Okafor is good. He will get double doubles but He is not that type of player that you can use as the corner stone of the team. His contract would hamper the flexibility of the team to improve the team until the 5th year of his contract.

Ok I am pushing for Okafor big time so this is why it could work...

Rox - Need a center and it looks like we going young and athletic...enough said.

Bobcats - They liked Landry last yr and offered him a contract plus the salary we could also send them (Cook+Barry) would come off the books potentially almost 10 million come off there cap next yr.

Salary Cap - This is the issue, like everyone else, I agree he is very overpaid but he could be the center we go on with for years to come and with TMAC's money coming off next summer and Yao's money coming off the books the next along with the insurance money we get from there contracts it could offset the cost. In the future we would need to be smart with the salary cap but thats Morey's specialty. Scola might have to be sacrificed next year though which hurts because I love the guy but he is getting older while Okafor is 26.

I admit it I want him here so its bias but hell I want to win so screw it!
