Bulls get Gasol for only 17 million, but the Rockets give Ariza 32 million?

I doubt Bulls get Gasol for cheap like that.

Kevin Pelton of ESPN really liked this deal for the Rockets. Graded us as A-, B+ for Wizards, and C- for Pelicans.

Huge NO to the player as I have seen his lackluster performance enough as a Rockets player.

I wishfully think that Morey has other plan for this "asset" in his pocket, probably hoping Ariza's "bloated stats" early next season would help a lot in a mid season trade to nail a desperate star player from another team.

This. I think his defense is going to be great, but I forsee a shooting slump to begin the season.

Just like Parsons last year. No change there.

Granted the offseason isn't over, but head-to-head the Rockets have the edge over the Mavs now. Dallas took a hit on the bench losing Carter and took a big perimeter defense hit losing Marion. Who guards James Harden now?

Yeah, we win at trades instead of on the basketball court.

yippee....can't wait to buy those season tickets to the green room and watch those cap discussions.

I'm a big Morey believer but I cant argue with you there. I wont lie, after Yao went down, I didn't watch the games with much enthusiasm. I knew the roster on the floor was just a work in progress. Trinkets at a swap meet.

I still followed the team just a closely. I enjoyed the idea of watching Morey build. But we landed the cornerstones he's always wanted. And he's reverting back to the old ways.

As a basketball fan, this is hard to stomach. Parsons deal at $16 was not a good one but still... we have holes all over the roster now. And for what?
