    These same people have no idea how NBA cap rules work. Parsons saves the Rockets $3mil if we don't match. I'll wait for you to list some "big name PG" who's willing to come for that amount.

    Come on. Give me some names.

    Yeah it sucks we're capped, pending Asik. Unless it buys us time to complete the NO/Hou/Was 3-way that gets us the Lin exception + MLE. Does this also mean we have nothing to offer Daniels right now? That's scary.

    That would be hilarious! And the fact that Deng looks like he will probably go to Miami (I think?), and the Mavs would have a huge hole at the 3 with no other good options left.

    Marion is older. He has regressed some of both sides of the court. But I still think he could be a pretty decent bench player and might be worth one of our exceptions (like the BAE, maybe? not sure if Marion would be willing to go down in salary that far).

    Look the future is now. We've gotta go all in to make a run. Can't keep betting on all these big name FA's. 9 times out of 10 they take the money. Time to get those TPE's and go to the market.

    What flexibility? Having 10 million in capspace next offseason? What good will that do us? With Ariza we won't have max space for the next 2 years at least. After those 2 years Parsons can opt out.

    So do you really want a significantly worse team for our ability to sign a 10 million guy (think Jordan Hill, Trevor Ariza...) next off season?

    We are in a win now mode. In 2 years Dwight can opt out. We need to build our team now. With Ariza and Parsons we'd have great depth at the 2 and 3. Our starting PG and C are great as well. Just need a PF, a backup C (Okafor? Birdman?) and maybe a backup PG...

    i am not sure about this, but can't we use the MLE, BAE to sign players still, and maybe ryan anderson is in play?

    One of the Rockets issues last season was consistent 3pt shooting. If the Rockets match Parsons and bring back Daniels they will have the ability to surround Dwight with the following 3pt shooters:

    Beverly .361 3pt%
    Daniels .480 3pt%
    Parsons .370 3pt%
    Ariza .407 3pt%

    That would be pretty damn good list of 3pt shooters.

    Thank you!!! Seriously people read up on this stuff. Not matching parsons doesn't yield you financial flexibility to make more moves. He's far better an option than anything you can get by not matching him. Stop the uneducated misinformation....
