Don't think so bro, I think it has a lot more do with Nene being 34 and injury prone. Nene had a lot of rest games last season, only averaged 18 mpg. Black is our 3rd big that eases the load for Nene, not a Capela replacement.

Why is that a stretch. He made 7.5 last year. Plenty of guys have taken less to compete on a stacked team. Plus he's getting older.
That 3rd center role isn't one you can leave vacant for the start of the season, though... Nene's nights off aren't going to wait. I have a hard time thinking of an available vet minimum guy who would slot nicely into the role. I also think maybe he didn't anticipate Chinanu would look so far from ready just a few days later.
