Who cares? Not sure what DD was smoking when he made that comment. Tyson Chandler's career is a lot like J-Lo's. A year or so ago they were considered damaged goods, struggling to get by now...BOOM. J-Lo demands $25M per year from American Idol - and gets it. Chandler may get money similar to what Nene will get when it's all said and done (due to championship and scarce market for quality 5's), but make no mistake about it: Nene is an entirely different stratosphere as a player than Chandler is. And I say this as a guy that doesn't really want either player.
Lowry was on 610: http://houston.cbslocal.com/2011/11/26/the-nba-lockout-is-over/ Said Rockets have a lot of cap space (not really Kyle ) & that he would love to see Marc Gasol, Nene or Tyson Chandler in a Rockets jersey. Also said he' try to help (recruit those guys).
Question: Do y'all really think we have a legitimate shot at getting Dwight Howard when he becomes a free agent? Be honest.
lowry martin granger/ iggy pat nene trade scola and other assets for either granger or iggy. how many wins would this team get us?
So these 3 are gonna be a big enough influence to lure Howard to come to Houston? It hasn't worked in the past, so what makes you think it'll work for Howard?
To be honest, if Les will truly sign off on rebuilding, I'd rather Nene turn us down. While I love Nene as a player, and do believe he doesn't effect next year's crop which is a prayer anyway, I still think the Rockets are better off truly rebuilding. The cheapest talent in the entire NBA are high lottery picks. Morey knows that better than anyone else.
I did vote Perry. I thought this was either a hate on lil dick justice or talk about nene thread. I didnt mean to derail it. It was my bad. Now lets talk Nene. I just disagree with Lil Dick. I refuse to believe the entire fate of our team hinges on the overrated but talented shoulders of Nene.
Yeah, if Dwight hits free agency, I think the Rockets have a reasonable shot. Reasons: -- Cap space -- Really good supporting cast tailor made for an All-Star center -- Players all entering their primes (as opposed to Lakers, Mavs, Celts all on their last legs) -- Exemplary management should look pretty nice after the disaster with Otis -- Big city with warm weather (he’s openly expressed hating the cold) -- Buddies with Lee who says he's been in Dwight's ear every day -- Access to Hakeem’s tutelage
Yeah WE understand all of this but the key is getting Howard to accept it and actually come here. Like when we all thought we had a real shot at Bosh coming here?
By the end of this season, Patrick Patterson = Nene. Wouldn't mind getting him, but no need for Nene.
Thats just how it turned out. The last couple of seasons we have had their number. All without a legit center. Same goes for Boston. Weird huh?
