Seriously now that the Rockets made these two moves today. Don't you think that the Artest trade might happen after all? Moochie, Wesley, Head, and a number one for Artest, Jones, and Johnson. I hope so but then again it is all a dream.

Holy Crap are we gettin desperate. Lets get one of Dream's offspring to help shore up the center position while we're at it.

you're not the only one keeping their fingers crossed. i can picture it now during the player's intros... "and now... your starting small forward... RON ARTEST!!! (and in the backgound music... "so don't test me... you betta move oooo-ver".) :D

i'd schit a brick, but not in the handicap stall like some of those folks over in the hangout.

You would think all these signings would preclude some sort of larger move. Artest would make sense; our team is already so jacked up, why not take the risk?

Maybe some of the Rockets have called realtors, youknowwhatI'msayin?

    (ring ring)

    Realtor: Hello?

David Wesley: Yeah, it's me. (sigh) Sell the f***er.

Realtor: So they're gonna trade you after all? Damn, I lost that bet. (turns to assistant) Hey! HEY! DO NOT POST THAT ON CLUTCHFANS! IF I LOSE MY COMMISSION OVER YOU, YOU'RE GOING TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE!

You guys are making way too much of this, Artest isn't coming, we ain't getting Garnett either. CD just got two guys he thinks can put the ball in the hole and will work cheap. If Lucas dropped 30 pts in a d-league game, he has got to have an outside shot.

Not sure I would want Artest anyway, the guy is certifiable and if he wasn't happy in Houston I could see him going postal on Clutch the Bear just to get out of town.

He's a bit on the small size and will have problems defending against the bigger guards in the West but hey, he can't be any worse than what they've been trotting out there all season. But it is unrealistic to believe that a kid from the D-league will be their salvation. Being good in the D-league is wayyyy different from being good in the NBA. At best he should take away Moochie's minutes.

If Lucas can hit an open jumper, I don't care what he's done up 'til now. His Dad was freakin' awesome, until he got caught up in the snowstorm. :(

Did Calvin have any boys or were they all girls? Otis Thorpe? Vernon Maxwell? Mario? Someone out there has to have a tall fast child who would like to play for the Rockets!!! Does Maloney have a younger brother who needs some cash? :p

the lucas signing is okay by me. a quick guard who can drain some jumpers, not bad off the bench but still, when is CD going to make a REAL move to get this team better?

It really makes no sense if you ask me. Now houston has another small player and get rid of a mid sized guy. I said it before the draft and i'll still say it, the Rox should have drafted Wayne S. used the mle of G. Wallace and Maybe get a Salim Stoudimire in the 2nd rd. If they wanted the best shooting combo guard bench player, Salim was clearly it. If they wanted to get atheltic and young on the frontline, Simein i thought was the guy and Wallace is a more atheltic version of Artest.

i can agree with a lot of that statement, even though i believe luther head will be a better player than stoudamire. stoudemire can shoot but he doesn't have the all around game luther has.

but to say gerald wallace is a better athlete than ron artest??? wallace is one hell of an athlete, no denying that. but how many guys can you find 6'7, 255 pounds of pure muscle and can bang with every single power forward in the league then go out and LOCK DOWN any perimeter player in the league with excellent lateral quickness....sorry, artest is one of the top 5 athletes in the nba. maybe he doesn't have a ridiculous vert. like wallace but he's a better athlete everywhere else.

Head all around game? Salim is shooting 45%fg 41%3pt fg 81% ft line. Wallace is right at the cusp of being a game changing type of player on the defensive end. Find a player other than AK 47 who is close to 2 stl and 2 blks a game. Not only that his offense is coming around like Artestt started coming around in his 5th season. I'm telling you he's getting good and he's only 23.

I saw John Lucas play a lot when he played for Baylor. He is basically a smaller, quicker Luther Head, but definitely not as good. He can hit the open three, he runs the court, decent passer. He hits the three consistently and runs fast breaks, but thats basically it. I don't remember too much about his defense so that would prob mean that it's suspect at best.

TJ Ford and he have been dueling each other since high school and TJ usually got the better of him. The one thing he will bring to the Rockets is quickness so maybe JVG can instill some defense in him so that all these guards can't just walk it in anymore.

salim is shooting better but head is averaging over 3.5 rebounds and nearly 2.5 assists and over 1 stl a game, all better than stoudamire. there is more to basketball than simply shooting.

and i'm not trying to deny wallace as becoming a very good player in this league, he's very close. but artest is a STAR. he is one of the best all-around players in the league. wallace is becoming a good defender, but artest is already the BEST and will be for a while. artest is also better offensively as well. he can drop 20 on you everynight to go along with his defense. he may not block shots but i'd rather have a guy who holds the other teams best perimeter player to around 40% shooting and completely take them out of their game than a blocked shot or two.

wallace has a chance to become a very good player. artest is already a star and is just 26 years old himself.

Wallace is a nice player and all, but we wouldn't have gotten him for the MLE. He was restricted, and the Bobcats ended up signing him for slightly more than the MLE so obviously they would have matched us. And since they could have taken their time to match, we would have missed out on Stro too since he and Marshall signed on day one after the moratorium ended.

Also Salim was drafted with the first pick in the second round, so we didn't have a chance at him either. The Rockets wouldn't have been able to do either of these deals.

Cool, I hope signing Lucas works out.

Now we need to sign Glanville Waiters Jr., Chuck Nevit Jr., Mitchell Wiggins Jr., Lewis Lloyd Jr., Ralph Sampson Jr., Jim Peterson Jr. :D
