He had a good run on the Bulls a few years ago. Would be decent injury reserve in a season that could see a lot of guys missing time. At the very least he's long and has the physical tools to be a good defender. I like it.
Meh. Shaq Harrison is younger, much better defender/disruptor, better 3ball shooter, much more explosive/athletic and the analytics love him. Shaq is just better overall player, +/- bears that out. And Shaq has potential to start next to Harden if necessary. Grant is downgrade from Austin Rivers. He could not even get consistent playing time on a Magic team desperate for a young PG.
The Grant twins are Harvey's kids, not Horace's. So we got the inferior twin son of the inferior brother.
It really does feel like Stone is loading up on 6'4" to 6'6" guards and wings and praying one or two of them pan out as legit 3 and D options in the rotation. At least with Grant, they get a veteran who can handle the ball a bit as a backup PG, but I'd almost rather give those minutes to Clemons since he at least as some upside as a young energy scorer off the bench. I could see him developing as a (very) poor man's Jason Terry/Lou Williams type. If you're giving those minutes to Grant, he's just a minutes eater, and you pray the opposing team doesn't go on a run for the few minutes he's on the floor.
Jerian Grant has a 6'7 wingspan and is 6'4 in shoes. Shaq is 6'4 with 6'10 wingspan. And I agree, Grant has a lousy jumper. Every other guard Rockets have signed has at least league average 3ball, except for Grant.
Not strong enough to switch onto 3's nevermind 4's and 5's. And not athletic enough to guard quick 1's and 2's. This signing reeks.
Waste of time, sign quality players now. Sign Shaq Harrison. Rockets already lost out on the other good backup PG options early on, last chance to right a wrong.
Close. They are both Harvey’s kids; but I don’t believe they are twins. They are just regular brothers; boring I know.
