He will get more shots now that Jalen is gone. Jalen was the highest usage player on the team yet the least efficient. Took so many shots that others like Jabari should have taken.

Final shot of the night @astrosrule the waiting area. The wine selection was probably the most extensive I have came across. I just recall page 26 was all Riesling’s and it was not even halfway through the book.

I grew up in Mike D’Antoni country. Probably am more comfortable at a coal mines, a basketball court, or this gem I ate at as a kid

It matters as he is still a big man and growing older, bigger and stronger will let him do other big men stuff.

I see Jabari as a reverse Al Horford. Horford came into the league as a traditional PF and then became a deadly 3 pt shooter. Jabari can learn the post up and paint scoring to round his game up in the coming years.

Obviously this goes without saying but this is a fantastic contract. 24.5M when the cap increases by 10% every year is a great deal.

Jabari is a role player, but as a 6-10 defensive spacer he is very valuable like Brook Lopez or Porzingis. On our team, he will serve as the glue between Sengun and Amen. I am sure KD will help him grow his game the next couple of years, KD already took a liking to him and was working out with him in the offseason. Now that they are teammates Jabari might end up as his protege and be taught some tips and tricks to help him out.

I like the fact that he quickly settled on a deal even before Tari Eason, just shows you his mentality. TBH, Whitmore is always the one whining but Jabari is the one most hurt by our horrible offense, dude gets the least amount of shots despite being one of the more efficient members of the team. He should be the one complaining the most but the guy just puts his head down and keeps working.

With KD on the team instead of Jalen, I think there will be more shots for Jabari starting this season. KD isnt a pg but has good court vision, he will be able to see Jabari open on the corner for those 3s.

offense is half the game man. Having the 2nd ranked defense is great but we also need a 10th ranked offense or better if we wanna contend.

I really want to see him operate in the midrange more and just...just simply rise up and shoot over guys whose smaller than him.

I hate that he'll get a guard on him and will either try to dribble past him (big mistake, TO incoming) or post them up so he can do that turnaround shot...which yeah, that's a good go to on longer players for sure but on smaller ones just shoot over them lol. It's a clean shot and they basically have to foul him to stop it from being a clean attempt.

At most, jab step, get them reaching, then shoot with the swing up through the arms, classic KD. Just that alone will help since it will make the defender not reach so much and give him open mid range shots in that area.

I think the biggest thing is he can't be KD. He doesn't have the handles for it and honestly I don't think he'll ever have the handles for it...but if he can become that dead eye shooter that we drafted then I imagine he's going to see a bump in his PPG with KD out there and no Jalen or Brooks so he has to get more shots by default almost.

I really like Jabari - but I hope he starts to be more aggressive. I know that he will never be the first option and that shot creation isn`t his strength, but he is too good to just camp in the corner. Get him the ball on bad matchups, get him involved in kick and rolls and kick and pops. In college his game was never to get seperation, it was to shoot over people. I know, NBA defenders are more athletic and have longer arms, but he should still get a bunch of easy shots from the elbow. There is no reason why he isn´t averaging 15-20 ppg. I really hope he learns from KD and gets one or two go to moves that we can run sets for him to get.

The reason he doesnt average 15-20 is cuz he only got 8 attempts. He basically had to have a perfect game to score 15 pts.

If he got more attempts his averages will go up. And I think it will def go up as our offense gets better at moving the ball and finding the open man.

Keep in mind that Jabari just turned 22, he's the same age as college seniors.

I think it's a bit of an overpay for what he's actually done, but could be a massive bargain if there's still some offensive growth in there. Given his age it's a pretty smart gamble to take.
