Also keep in mind most these fools are mad we didn't throw Harden the max just so he could quit & demand a trade in a year. They're mad we paid the guy that actually wants to play
Really not liking that 3rd year, he'll be 32 and a very undersized PG. Not out of the realm of possibility that this contract turns into an albatross if he ages like Kemba.
This is the second most embarrassing thing of the day for the Rockets behind only the Jalen Green sex tape.
20/7 guy in his prime that has won a championship and made the all-star is considered overpay?! Plus fills the void at PG and experienced leadership that the Rockets need badly. Completely fine with this deal.
I never claimed he was on the same level as 2017-18 Chris Paul. But he's won something before in this league and been part of some great defenses. You can't say that about anyone else on this team who has basically played losing pick up basketball for three years.
I mean, it could've been worse. It's not like that Ryan Anderson contract a few years back. At least Van Vleet is a good/borderline All Star player but not someone to be the first or second option on a championship level team.
Thank you to everyone here who has vouched for FVV as a culture builder. Even if you have no idea and are only saying that because you saw somebody else saying it. I’m gonna grab onto that rationale and tell myself the 130 mil was worth it.
This is where I'm at. FVV fills a lot of gaps we have and we needed to spend big bucks. He's only 29 and essentially 28-32 are usually a players best years. BTW, good for FVV turning an undrafted snub into being a key part of a championship and creating generational wealth for him and his family. Well done young man! Personally, these are the kind of guys I like to root for and see succeed. Glad he's part of our team.
