Moochie isn't healthy. He has been battling a pretty nasty problem with the arch in one of his feet.

I doubt this is a look at a guy for signing purposes. This is a "just in case" for IF Moochie or Steve needs a night off.

With the cap space we should have, I doubt we'll need an extra million. We can only give Webber X amount and Moochie is an early bird player.

Will he be at the game tomorrow? Or is that too soon for a new player to play?

He should be able to. Motumbo played the day after he got traded. Hopefully the Rockets will blowout the Bulls and we'll get a look at him. Speaking of the Bulls, it looks like Ron Mercer might have season ending surgery which should make tommorows game that much easier. Bryce on Steve? Hoiberg on Mobley? [IMG] Tim Floyd better double team or its gonna be a massacre.

This has to be the worst endorsement for a 10-day signee I have ever seen.

Rudy Tomjanovich on the Rockets signing Sean Colson:

"I just need an insurance policy just to have good practices. Moochie's injury is the kind you have to rest. This way it keeps our practices going, and we can scrimmage and things like that."

Well, at least hes being honest, and Im sure Colson doesnt really mind too much. Practices are probably better than his games, and undoubtedly pay is better.

So much for the conspiracy theories ...

Just saw the Chronicle report and Jeff's post. Moochie's condition explains a lot -- the signing makes perfect sense now.

    Carry on! [IMG]

Credit Rudy with another CBA steal.

How the hell does he keep finding these guys? He must have scouts everywhere...

Mooch - who has probably earned a hefty contract - displaced Drew as our future backup PG. Cuttino was #42 or thereabouts - a relative nobody. Steve was the #2 A-hole-mr.badguy... But we all know different now, tomatos and other veges notwithstanding...

What are we going to do when CD retires?

For that matter, who really IS calling the shots at this point?

'Center for three?' only can Matt sill say that.

    He can retire gracefully...

    that's a bit premmature.

the hawks signed colson to a 10 day contract after matt maloney got injured last month. he played only 3 games for ATL before getting released.

Uh-huh... And Matt Maloney is now the PG?

Body-counting might not be your only problem.

    Atlanta, we have a problem...

(We have no PG, and we just gave away a perfectly good Center)

Atlanta Woes... Inevitably, this accounts to a decreption...

What the hell were they thinking?

Matt Maloney will solve all our problems...

If you're not laughing at this point, then God help us all...

Rudy/CD are usually GODS when it comes to this: Q - What part of the offensive mix are we missing? A - what part of the defensive mix are we missing?

Answer - integrate SA with the coordinated offense. SA is the key to 90% of their games this season; if they would just realize that they'd probably be 31-26.

Where the hell was he in the 4th against the Blazers? He had a good game for 30+ minutes, and then 'poof' - he suddenly no longer exists.... He's no longer an option, and suddenly Cato is... Which lost the f*#king game.

I'm not a big fan of Rudy-bashing, but that one clearly did not make sense. The set, I mean. It just didn't make any sense.

How bad is Steve's ankle? (maybe he should take the current week off to rest it?)

How bad is Moochie's injury? (also an ankle, I believe)

Those are two questions I'd want to see answered before anything else.

While we're making a run, this could really hurt...

(Sorry, I've got family in Atlanta, and I just love sticking it to them...)

The Ultimate Question: Is Stevie's ankle injury chronic??????? (persistent, extensive, intrusive, debil...can't even say it) Is it periodic? Do we have to plan for it? Or is this an anomoly? An abnormal recurrence, or a biological 'fluke'...

The answer could affect RocketBall for years to come. Either way.

    Simply amazing.

I have yet to see Colson play, but I think Rudy is making a big mistake by not signing Gee Gervin. That kid can ball. I have no idea where he is or what he's up to but I know he could be a solid backup PG for the Rockets.

Gee Gervin is available!!?? That guy is another Chris Jackson (Adbul-Rauf). He can LIGHT IT UP! A pure shooter. Definitely would have taken a chance on him. Rauf can still stroke it, but remember in his earlier days he was scoring around 20 something points a game and was a dead-eye shooter. Gervin is that type of player.

Gee Gervin played at San Jacinto JuCo, same as Franchise and Cassell, but Gee is not really much of an option in my opion. His shooting was a bit streaky from what I saw of him. I didn't get a chance to see much of his game at UH, can anyone tell me if he improved much? He was quite the ball hog at San Jac as well, but it was allowed there, because he was the Raven's best offensive weapon.

I've seen Colson play a little bit when he was with UNC-Charlotte...and believe me you shouldn't be impressed by that game against UNC--he almost shot his team completely out of that game...it was DeMarco Johnson who kept them close...but other than that game what I saw of Colson wasn't too bad...he's pretty quick and he has decent range on his shot...that is, unless his game has changed in the last few years, cause that was the last time I saw him play.
