Yeah I saw Gabe, Ike, and their older brother (don't know his name) at the gym, and they are all freaking huge... I am happy for him and can't wait to see how he does.
At UT he was definetly a 4. If he does play the 3 spot some, he would have to change his game from what it was in college. I guess that he might be able to go the way Corliss Williamson has(very strong post up 3). The one thing he really has going for him at the 3 spot is that he could really run in college, and it sounds like he might be even better at that now. He couldn't handle the ball, but he was an excellent passer.
Alex Scales was on the same San Jacinto RUNNIN RAVENS team as Francis, so I imagine it was Steve that turned them on to him. I doubt he will make the team, but I think he could be a good player. I got to see him quite a bit in person, and his body shape belies his quickness. He was a good player at both San Jac and Oregon, though, and I was a little surprised the guy wasn't drafted in the 2nd round the year he came out of college.
As soon as you hear anything goubople, I'd love to know what's going on with Gabe. I don't know when they start the offseason practice, but I hope Gabe is improving. He's a smart player who makes good use of the skills he has. He made Chris Mihm look like an NBA star with those inside passes. Imagine him dishing to our finishers? I love this guy. I hope he has a great attitude with the Rockets. also, the guy learned to hit the three from the top of the key while he was at Texas. That's learning something.
