    The way the roster is shaping up I would absolutely love to have Rubio here. I imagine it might cost us Ariza and I'm in no ways happy about losing him but I would do it. Rubio would change the entire culture of the way we play.

    If we can get a good wing and a backup center in the deal, even better. Especially if we have Rubio I'm okay with starting Capela or D-Mo at center, whomever outplays the other in camp.

    No idea why this isn't merged with the trade idea thread. There's no actual intelligence that we are trying to trade for Rubio. None of the "insiders" prognostications have come to pass on this.

    Darren Wolfson is the guy quoted in the OP over a year ago. Sounds like he's "Poking" around cfnet and found we were going to close his thread, and exile him to the Random Trade Idea thread.

    This is the equivalent to being really hungry at 2 am in the morning.... opening up the refrigerator and seeing nothing but old salsa with fuzz on top and a half eaten chili cheese dog. You may "poke" around a bit, but ultimately you are going to sleep hungry.

    And that folks is called a non-answer. He's just speculating, we have nothing to trade. Morey needs to get creative. A guy like Shabazz Napier would've been a nice addition, get creative Morey. But also, lets see how good Glove Jr is running this offense

    As I have previously confirmed, Morey has kicked the tires on acquiring Rubio as a 7th or 8th man to backup Bev. Nothing more. And this isn't saying much, because Morey is always contacting every team about everyone.

    Houston calling about Ricky Rubio and the Rockets believing Ricky Rubio is the answer to all of their problems are two different things.

    Jopat will try to self validate based on that which is entirely false. Let's please get that straight first and foremost.

    I have no doubt in my mind that Morey has called about nearly every player under contract in the league... hell i would be 1000 bucks that he's called Rich Paul about Lebron James.... because why not?? But we have no idea as to what type of deal Morey would have been willing to do to get Rubio.

    There are conditions to which I would accept trading for any player in the league especially in a year like this one where we won't be contending for a title. Even someone as awful of a fit to this team as Ricky Rubio could be palatable under the right trade conditions. Doesn't mean Morey will ever do a deal or that he'll be proven to be "the answer" to all of the problems in the Rockets organization like Hollic would lead you to believe.

    •In the CBA coming up, will the owners, especially owners of the small markets, will they try to put some rules in, maybe kin to the NFL rules on transitional/franchise tag to limit star movement?

    •After the HEAT came together in 2010, there were certain anti-HEAT rules put in, specifically the different graduated scale of the luxury tax and repeater tax that would make it hard for the HEAT to stay together long term and they didn't. It also put the breaks on the wild spending by the Brooklyn Nets, for example. Those rules got blown up by the cap spike. I expect there to be essentially anti-Warriors rules negotiated in over the next year. The rule changes will favor restricting player movement.

    •I would not trade Rubio if I were them. I know his name is out there. I've heard Houston in fact was pecking around at it early in free agency. We'll have to see if that re-flares up down the line.

    •Not that you would but you can trade Cole Aldrich tomorrow. You do not want to give a contract where were you need to move it, you'd have trouble. The Luol Deng contract could be hard to move. ... Meyers Leonard may just get cut free, depending on what they do. They're messing around with Festus Ezeli.

    •Is Pekovic gonna play again? If he can't play, the Wolves would be beneficial by doing something with his contract. The word on the street is he won't be able to play again.
