I'm fine adding Rubio. He's an excellent creator, and although he's terrible off the ball, I think he could be the secondary playmaker on the roster that Lawson should have been. His overall efficiency also improved significantly last season, which shows he's trending in the right direction.

However, I'm a lot less inclined to be on board with this if the Rockets have to take on Pekovic's contract in the process. His expiring contract next season could feasibly be an attractive trade piece, but he's essentially eating up a huge chunk of their cap in the meantime.

Best defensive PG in the league? Player that pretty much made the career of Kevin Love? Yes please.

I saw that Rubio's 3-point percentage bumped to nearly 33 percent last season, so I checked to see how he was shooting at the end of the year. After the All-Star break, he shot 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. That's a relatively small sample size, but it's nice to know that he's improving on his jumper should Morey make the leap and trade for this guy.

1.) Laughable to assume Minnesota would just take back Brewer.
2.) You can use the stretch provision on Brewer to make his cap hit almost nothing.
3.) Cheap and Serviceable is a reference to Ariza and Bev, not Brewer.

Yes, I'm coming back to reality myself on this one. I know we have someone saying we and Chicago are interested in Rubio, and I can see D'Antoni's interest, but it all comes down to a bad fit with Harden as well as the Pekovic thing (which was actually a sportswriter rumor).

Pekovic for 12 million a season for 2 seasons? Nope.

I agree. But what if we have no chance to sign good players in free agency? You rather pay 20x4 to Ryan Anderson or 23x for Parsons, or just take Rubio at 13x4 and Pek at 12x2 which will turn into an expiring next summer? Eh...i'd say give Rubio and Pek IF it oesn't cost me more than Pat and Brew.

I'm down with Wicky for reasons already stated ad nauseum.

And as much as I know some don't want to hear it (Hell, I didn't want him hired).. MDA would likely bring out the best in this guy....with our Rockets benefiting in a big way.

I have a feeling that IF Morey was able to land Rubio, he'll do it in a way that doesn't take on Pek. Taking on Pek doesn't seem like the type of move Morey would do.

11/5/11/3 with an offensive charge drawn per game.

Harden/Rubio well become the best backcourt in the NBA if we trade for Rubio. Not the best shooting backcourt. But the best backcourt.

    Get this deal done.
    Then trade for Noel.
    Sign Uthoff.
    Sign Anthony Randolph.
    Then wait for Durant.
If Durant doesn't come then wait for something else to surface with Dwight and DMo.

Are you hearing anything on Rubio to Houston? I think he's going to be a steal to the team that gets him. But I'm very skeptical that Thibobeau trades a fan favorite (and a very good player) for ten cents on the dollar.

MDA WOULD get the best out of him.

You think we could still pull of a Noel trade? That would be nice.

I don't know the validity of this tidbit, but

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/Phantele_">@Phantele_</a> You'll like this: heard D'Antoni is lukewarm at best on Rubio (was checking if Rockets are a team to watch). Shooting bothersome.</p>&mdash; Darren Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) <a href="https://twitter.com/DWolfsonKSTP/status/746176078331285510">June 24, 2016</a></blockquote>

If Rubio lands in Houston, maybe it's more Morey than D'Antoni?

True, he also reported about Brewer to Houston two years ago, i just think sometimes he can make bad calls too ;)
