I'd much rather keep Ty Lawson.

His incredible shooting will really help us when Harden handles the ball.
Rubio only makes sense when Harden steps down as a playmaker and is willing to play off-ball the majority of the time. The Lawson experiment tells us otherwise.

Why would anyone want Rubio if a team with young studs at Wing and Center don't want him? Love and KMartin should have been a perfect fit for Rubio -- can't even get to .500. The current MIN is also a perfect fit for Rubio (theoretically) and he still sucks there. He can't get them to win -- they are 17-37. They could do better with nearly any PG in the NBA.

Don't want Rubio either - just don't see the fit, simply because he is a poor shooter. But the failed Lawson experiment is not on Harden. Lawson, starting with Harden to begin the season was too timid and even without Harden on the court still was timid - that's all on Lawson (and coaching, for not integrating him properly during the offseason).

Lawson is a superior passer, penetrator, playmaker, and shooter. Rubio is a better defender. As long as our offense is give it to Harden and pray any playmaker PG would be wasted on this team.

Rubio is useless without the ball in his ball and Harden doesn't want to give up the ball. This is not going to work..

Ty gets alot of hate here too. I guarantee you the majority of you all would be okay w/ Lawson for Rubio. The claim was made Bev's a scrub and Rubio's defense is better. When it's clearly the other way around:rolleyes:

    (sigh)

We're not getting Ricky Rubio unless we're trading Harden for an equivalent star.

In other words, I don't see this happening. Zeeshan, don't resurrect this stuff, please! :)

Does Rubio want Harden's ball in his ball? If so that's going to make for a great Lifetime movie.

I agree. Rubio's a scrub and I cringe whenever his name is brought up in trades for us

    I don't think a 29% 3 pt shooter exactly qualifies as complementary

I just wanted to add that Rubio is being available for a trade not that the Rockets wanted to trade for him. This is the only thread I could find to put Rubio stuff in.

One thing i will say about Rubio is that he has great size for a PG to play good defense and i think he's shown that he's more than capable of defending at this level. His best season was 2 years ago where he was above average at defense, it was the only season he played more than 57 games(he played all 82) and it was his best.

He's shooting 30% from 3 for his career with 2 attempts. At this point in his career Jason Kidd was shooting 32% from 3 with 3.4 attempts. There's no reason why Rubio can't improve. He's 25 years old. We can turn him into a decent corner 3 IMO. I feel like Morey would find the right spots for him and limit him to only those spots. He also has a far better FTr than Kidd at this point in his career which is obviously something we love. His numbers overall really aren't that off from Kidd at 21-25 years old. Kidd played 6 more mpg.
