Rockets showing interest in trading for Ricky Rubio?

We need a big guy to protect the lane when dwight isn't on the court. we're fine right now especially at the PG spot.

 

more impactful on winning games ok. How much exactly. Because Rubio hasn't won a whole lot since he's been in the league.

It's no surprise Minny is trying to get rid of him. They made the mistake of throwing all that money at him and trying to build around him when he's not that type of player. Especially when all he's done is get injured and miss almost half of the games in 4 seasons.

No it's a surprise. Because they need him. If you look at their roster he fits pretty well. Which pg are they going to acquire to replace Rubio and grow with their young core??

 

they just drafted tyus jones. seems like they've been pretty high on him and would now rather him grow with their extremely young core instead of rubio.

I think they're looking at Tyus as their guy. At least for now.

I do know this, Flip wants a scoring point. He loved/loves Bledsoe.

 

He hasn't played one nba minute and as far I remember looked horrible in SL.
And no matter what, even Flip can't seriously believe that Jones will develop to a good defender right?
What exactly has he shown that someone before he even plays will proclaim him the starting pg of the future?

In my opinion, with the current Minny roster and their prospects a scoring guard doesn't fit as well as a pass first /elite defence pg like Rubio.
Who will take the shots? And who will playmake? Neither Wiggins nor Lavine have shown the ability to make plays? Whereas you have Wiggins Lavine Shabbaz taking the shots and scoring and then someone must set up Pek and somehow try to get Dieng involved a bit. No idea about Towns yet but I don't think he will have high usage like Shabbaz and Wiggins.

Anyway, a scoring guard doesn't fit. Especially if instead of Bledsoe you have another scoring guard who doesnt' play good defence like 99% of them.

I guess they see something in him that makes them want to find out. They're not winning anytime soon so it's not like they can't afford to see how Tyus develops with Lavine, wiggins, and KAT. At this point, not much is defined on that team. all of these players have a long way to go to develop themselves into their roles on that team.

 

T jones can't hit a jumper so you dub him t_ones and Rubio can't hit a jumper and you dub him da gawd

 

It is amazing how far Bucher has fallen. From ESPN to getting trolled on that report of Lowry to Miami signing in the summer of 2014.

Rubio is a much better player than both.

 

Bev and his contract for this team > Rubio and his contract for this team

 

All it would take is Lawson having another alcohol incident to revive Morey's supposed interest in Rubio. His contract is gross, but the cap is going up. I don't see it happening, even if Lawson can't stay dry, but the Rockets are so close that nothing would surprise me.

For our team, it is debatable if Rubio is better than Bev alone, let alone Bev AND T-Jones. Under no situation would a pass only, can't shoot or finish PG better than Bev AND T-Jones.
