Apparently he's done in Portland according to SI.com, which is perhaps not entirely surprising considering the Blazers just drafted a very similar player in C.J. McCollum with Damian Lillard, Will Barton, and Wes Matthews already in the backcourt.
He's also close with Harden from their OKC days. Him and Durant were at Harden's imfamous all-white boat party lol...
I saw him a couple of times after he was traded to Portland, and he seemed to look a little better. He tore his ACL in Jan 2012, so his play early in the season was not even a year recovered from the surgery. Still, the Rockets I think are set at PG after drafting Canaan to fill the 3rd string job. Whether they get Howard or not, there's better uses for the cap/roster space, unless for some reason Bev or Lin go somewhere.
What do we have to offer them? A future 2nd round pick? That's all they'd get. Then we'd have to trade either Beverley or Lin to clear the log jam at point and gain another asset a different position. Which would be cool, but way to much to go through.
Not too familiar with Maynor, but if Rockets trade Lin, Beverley will need a backup. Canaan should be allowed to develop at least half a season before being placed in the meat grinder of the NBA, most likely.
