It's not bad....all red though......looks OK. Then again.....I liked the jerseys we had last season...so I'm weird
Its ok.... growing on me a little, but lets face it.... its pretty freaking bland..... With all the freaking buildup and HUGE HYPE surrounding all this, I was really disappointed to see this obvious appeal to our friends overseas (not that there is anything wrong with that). I was just expecting something a little more EXCITING. I mean c'mon a freaking 3rd grader could have designed this.
In the article it says the new uniforms wont be shown til september but when will rockets.com be updated?!
OMG - This thing is freaking UGLY. - Looks real Halloweenish. - Looks PLAIN This has to be some joke, or a tease... I will definately not wear anything like that. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!!!
I can dig it. Some people are never satisified. It really cracks me up. It will grow on those who don't currently dig it. Especially when we finally see the unis. I like it being plain. The problem with the other one was that it was too busy. And ugly. I like that fact that it doesn't look cartoonish. It's actually pretty cool.
I just can't believe all this anticipation and we're handed such an overly simple and sophomoric design. I agree that a rather young child could have come up with this or something even more creative. I don't hate it, I just don't understand the decision-making process that allowed this to happen. Maybe it will grow on me. Maybe it won't. I guess the most important thing for me is that the pinstripes and that damn cartoon are gone! I'll try to be more positive about it now that I've vented a bit.
Yeah, I thought it the asian thing was all about Yao too when I first saw it but then I noticed in the article that it was designed by a well-known Japanese designer. But I wouldn't be surprised if Yao's marketability played a role when Les had his final say. I would be shocked if it didn't. That being said, I can't believe everybody trashing it mercilessly already. COme on, the classic "ROCKEtS" looks good to us for nostalgia reasons, but it really isn't that cool from an aesthetic standpoint, and of course the blue rocket/thick pinstripe look isn't all that. Of the three, judging purely on the merits of the design alone, I would prefer this one.
Reading these posts makes me wonder, How many of you were also hoping "Matrix Reloaded" would be the best film ever or you'd be disappointed? I like it. Better kinda plain than too busy. I remember when they debuted the clownsuit, and the clown-colored floor. Ugh. Now let's see what it looks like on the uniform.
1/4 of you are saying it looks asian while 1/4 of you are complaining it's too gothic I think you're just looking for something to whine about. And how was this logo overhyped? As far as I could tell, this message board was the only place I've seen that was hyping up the logo. No newspapers, no magazines, no TV shows... in fact many of my friends weren't aware we were getting a new logo/uniforms until I told them.
i can live with it. it certainly beats what we had. it's simple...i like simple with branding concepts. at the very least...THE FREAKING HOUSTON ROCKETS ARE RED AGAIN!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to see the designs that "they" shot down. Now, the next level will be trying to uncover this mystery... Let's go, "insiders!"
i love it. love it. love it. the key to having a long living logo is a) simplicity & b) success. oh, and whoever said this is goth has never been in the goth scene. this is not goth. if i'm not mistaken, someone compared our logo with the detroit tigers "D" as an example of "goth". that is ridiculous also. first, detroit's "D" isn't goth! it's freakin' calligraphy. anyhoo, i love it. gimme an "R" on a tight ass hat and i'm rockin it.
I liked it right away. I think some of the sharpest logos are very simple...for example, the infinity logo. Simple, but classy! I really don't care to have some orange colored basketball behind it or some other crap cluttering it up.
I am kind of P.O.d. My thoughts: 1) Like alot of others, I feel it is VERY plain and not exciting at all. Especially compared to the Cavs new logo: 2) I sure hope they didnt pay this Eiko person a whole lot, because a 3rd grader could have designed that. 3) I was more upset at first, but if you look closely, there is a slight black outline around everything. I would have like to seen more of a defined/thicker outline, in black or silver/platinum. 4) It is better than our old logo, but thats not saying much. 5) How long are we going to be stuck with this one? Again, compared to the Cavs logo, its so plain and boring.
