I too tried to get through all of the responses, but dont have the time right now. When they revealed the logo on FSN last night, I didnt know what to think at first, but as time went on, all I could think of was this looked like something the Converse Judson Rockets in San Antonio would wear. Did we seriously have all of the hype for this????? I am not a big fan of this- I dont mind the logo we have now, just the uniforms. So keep the current logo, but change the uniforms. I dunno, maybe the uniforms will look good and I wont mind the logo, but man, the designs drawn up here by board members run lapes around the "real" one.
At first glance I hated it. At second glance I decided to post and say I hated it. Hopefully the uniforms will look better but it looks like we may go from the pajamas to a goth/anime combo. Go Retro. Bring back the Red and Gold!
I agree this sucks. It doesn't asian to me at all. It just looks stupid. I won't be buying anythign with that logo on it anytime soon.

OK, I understand the Rocket part of the R taking off but not the rest. and why does the circle around it have to be the smae color? OK using Rocketeer's wallpaper jpeg and 5 minutes of very quick photoshopping I came up with this... Better or worse?
It is something different and it may grow on us. But, this seems to be an acknowledgement from the City of Houston and the Rockets to of the Chinese culture here in our city. Which is OK, but even the designer is of Chinese descendant. I am not trying to be racial nor discriminating, but that is what I see. DIG
I dunno if I'd say it rules, but Rocketeer's changes have made it suck much less. Nice work, Rocketeer. You did change the aspect ratio of it slightly though, didn't you? Yours look slightly squatter and wider than the original example. It has looks more solid and has a better, stronger feel that way. Trouble is, that's not the red of the original. Yours is a nice, rich crimson with a lot of character, whereas the color of the original is more of a wussy-ass hopped-up magenta. Send your mod to Tim of the Rockets. Your subtle changes make it _far_ superior to their cheesy ****e.
Call me crazy, but I've been looking through some things and I have come to the conclusion that the only thing about this logo that is asian is the designer. What exactly about this thing looks asian to some of you?
My 11 year old son saw the logo for the first time just now. His reaction, word for word: "Oh man, that's gay. What's that thing coming out of the top of the circle. It looks like a fish. They might as well call us the Houston Cod Fish." So much for it appealing to the younger crowd.
I think this is one logo that needs to be on a uniform to be judged fully. By itself, it's a bit odd. Hopefully the uniform will use it well. Besides, if Stevie likes it, so do it
Was anyone at the Astros game last night? I heard that the Astros unveiled the new logo on the big screen last night and nobody in the crowd said a word. So the announcer said "Well if you don't like it, say "No!" And suddenly everyone in the crowd was yelling "No!" Is this true? If yes then it's hilarious and gives the Rockets time to alter it!!!!!
The font of the lettering looks asian. The top of the R and the way the "Houston Rockets" looks. I didn't even know the designer was Asian when I first looked at the logo. After realizing it is supposed to be a rocket, it doesn't look as much Asian anymore.
Caused our jaws to drop. Not absolutely horrible, but we don't like the way it's bleed'n all over the place.
I like that much better... Even my 11 year old son said it looked cooler than what they put out. Simple solution - tilt the dang "R".
With the uniforms being a red and silver color scheme, I think it will be pretty good. The logo isn't much, but it is better than what we had. At least we all can cerimoniously burn our old expansion clown suits that have given us nothing but misery since '96.
