Tim, not that you're deciding whether or not to end your life b/c of the responses in this thread... but I did want to say that the logo has grown on me quite a bit in these past few hours, for what it's worth.
Does it really? I get dizzy standing on my head... could someone post it upside down? Thanks in advance. That would be too weird.
turn it sideways and you can see a vortex and a sickle ( grim reaper like). the dildo rocket can still be pictured in this "logo" also. its growing less on me each time i see it. god, TIM PLEASE DONT PUT THIS ON THE UNIFORMS I BEG OF YOU. Just have it stay houston and keep it down to platinum and red. keep it simple, yet flashy with the colors.
I think this looks kinda cool, almost like an eagle or Atlanta Hawks logo of some sort!!!!! It almosts looks like an eye!
Like a lot of people here, as soon as I saw it I was like 'WTF??'. But seeing it along side our old logo (as well as others) it has grown on me. Simple. Neat. I like it.
I like either Codell's change (adding silver color) or the one where the R is stretched wider. Those changes fix the problems I have with it. Right now: - It looks like dripping blood - My eyes focus on the lower half, not on the R. Seems unbalanced. - What is the ring supposed to be? - It looks like Chinese lettering, which isn't necessarily bad if the other probs are fixed. BUT it might grow on me. It does look like something that could look pretty nice on a baseball cap. Pretty stylish, but not really bold. P.S. I never complained much about the old logo. It was the pinstripe unis, with the silver irregular lines and the big red blocks on the sides of the shorts (fading into blue at the waist) that looked like crap.
I have to say I like the new logo better than when I first saw it, but then again maybe I am just relieved I don't have to look at the atrocity with teeth that we had to bear the past few years.
Its cool! The logo will work okay, but I am afraid of seeing some new radical designs on the uniform. If they put the new logo on a simple plain red uniform, then it will be okay, but you know they wont. Instead of hiring some "big headed" designer, they should of hired several designers to come up with different ideas. My money says this guy did not even design this logo. I bet it was some intern. The logo will work, but it does not look like the work of some academy award winner.
You can tell looking at this logo, that they spent all their time on the symbol. Just looking at this from a designers point of view, it appears they gave up on the text placement and just placed the symbol between the title as a last attempt to make it work.
Well, yeah, that's what happens when you make it twice as big and add the "houston rockets" lettering in. Take out the lettering and its much more subtle.
It wasn't a guy, it was a girl And she designed costumes for Bram Stoker's Dracula, for which I believe she won the acadamey award, and the Cell, and won a Tony for costumes in Madame Butterfly, and also did an album cover for Miles Davis, or so IMDB would have me believe.
