I'd be shocked if they didn't match. I'd expect them to explore a Dragic trade before not matching Bledsoe. I expect all three guards to be there and have a freakishly quick guard combination.
How exactly would it even work? If we offered the max, would we still be able to match Parsons contract? Anyways it would be a gamble. That would be 3 days in which we couldn't do anything FA wise. And there is a good chance PHO matches. Why shouldn't they, they probably can trade one of there 3 PGs without a problem at the trade deadline and get some nice return. If we want Bledsoe, we probably have to discuss a s&t.
Historically this has not been true. RFA's have always made less than their unrestricted brethren. See: Lowry, Kyle.
I'm not condoning paying him 13 million per, but just like Carl pointed out in another thread the price of doing business is going up. We have already seen it with some of the other free agents this offseason. 10 million isn't what it used to be. Just something to keep in mind.
Parsons numbers are inflated because of the double teams Harden attracts. He's gonna be 11 and 5 for the duration of his time in Dallas, then he'll probably go play in Orlando and continue to be mediocre. He's replaceable. Am I the only one really put off that he signed with Dallas? Its really bothering me, he went heel. This is a business and its time to move on and build a solid deep squad to get deep in the playoffs so Dwight doesn't bolt in two years
He was terrible because Adelman and Morey gave him green light to shoot 15 shots a game or more. Lol He should just get 7-8 at most lmao
Ariza is an okay 3/4th option; he's a terrible 1st option Rox need a legit PF to go anywhere in the west
See, I don't think Parsons numbers were inflated. I don't think he got more open looks than Ariza. I've watched most of our games, Parsons didn't get great numbers because he was open all the time. He got those numbers because of his game. And Ariza didn't create his shots the majority of the time either. Parsons will never be a first option. But he is a guy that does everything well. He can shoot, drive, dribble, pass, rebound, set picks, block some shots, steal some balls and is at least capable of playing good defense - god knows why he didn't do it the last two seasons. He is a perfect complimentary player. Worth the max? No. Should we still match? Definetly.
Now we're just doing something to say we did something. This offseason has just been straight up garbage.
