Did the Rockets really target Drummond? The Raptors took Ross at #8, and I have to think he would have been available at #12.. So see no reason why the Rockets and Raptors could not make a deal unless Morey played hard ball.

Their interest in Lamb was sincere, they worked him out and met with him a number of times. The day before the draft the Rockets met with him one last time.

So, should I buy my #20 Jeremy Lamb jersey, or continue to hold off due to roster changes every year?

Exactly what I was thinking. Went and watched a few of the highlight films on him and I did a double take. If you watch some of his moves, look at his shot style and then go watch a Tracy McGrady highlight you will see that it is by far the best comparison. It's actually a bit scary how much they look alike in the highlights... Not to mention their eyes and demeanor. Let's just hope Lamb can be that good... TMac was a superstar in his prime of course but boy I was excited when I made that connection.

Man, I've been watching film on this guy this morning. Wow. Much more athletic than I was expecting. Thought he was just a jump shooter. Moves well without the ball and gets to the rim. If he translates to the next level he will be an all-star, or borderline all-star. Very nice footwork and agility displayed in college to help him create shots.

Yep and those long arms will help him guard alot of the fast PG's like Westbrook and Wall.

I don't get some of the comparisons..

His game is nothing like Ray Allen or Reggie Miller other than he is very good at using screens. He is a far better penetrator and athlete than either. He is not as smart or as good a long range shooter as Allen and Miller.

I can understand the Roy comparison as far as the ability to penetrate and use the mid range game. However he is not a good creator like Roy and does not need to dominate the ball like Roy.

He is not nearly as talented as T-Mac (who is?)..

He is like Martin in that he relies on the mid range game, but he is a better athlete and ball handler.

I hope they move Martin and let Lee leave so he can get 25-35 minutes a game. Long term I could see him getting 18-23 points a game with good to elite defense and a high fg%.

I don't see him ever being a superstar but could be an all star.

20 points a game with very good defense and high efficiency is not a superstar?

His game is nothing like Ray Allen's because he's not nearly as good of a penetrator and isn't even a 1/4 of the athlete Ray Allen was. If you're talking about the 36 year old Ray Allen that relies on his jumper then yes I'd hope he's a better athlete than him.

If he is anything like TMAC...the Rockets will go down as the best suck out team of the 2012 draft...seriously...we just had really bad luck with Cavs being so high on Waiters...and the Bobcats going with MKG

Lamb already penetrates as well or better than Ray Allen did at UCONN. His bread and butter in the NBA was hitting long range shots and coming off of curls. Allen was a good athlete, but not like Lamb.

I want him to make love to the rim like it's the hottest woman he's ever seen. His hands need to be all up on it 24/7.

A superstar? No I don't think so. Lamb will need to get to the line more if he wants to make the efficiency jump.

I consider Kobe, James, Jordan, West and Barry to be superstars at the 2 spot.

Players such as Allen, Miller to be a tier below superstar.. They are perennial all stars, but not alphas.
