I just want to point out Lamb is the exact same surname as Lin, just the Cantonese pronunciation as compared to the Mandarin.
Lamb has a 6'11" wing span and uses it when maneuvering inside the paint, often using his length to get shots off. He also will be one of the better shooting guards at scoring in the post. He has good athleticism and a solid vertical, which coupled with his wing span makes him extremely effective scoring inside. He is a good perimeter shooter that has the potential to become a very good middle range shooter, something over looked. Contrary to what some say, I do not find him to be a terribly creative passer or player. He is not a guy like LeBron or TMac, he won't especially make the players around him better. The comparisons to Roy are not on point. Lamb doesn't need to dominate the ball to play well. He makes poor adjustments on defense and has to get stronger. Too often he did not fight through picks or keep his man out of the post. He has all the ingredients to be a borderline all star shooting guard, while not Dwight Howard or the upside of Drummond, he can be an important part of an elite team if he gets a little stronger.
Everyone complained or knocked on Kevin Durant being to skinny and weak. All he does is ball and put the stupid ball in the net. Exactly... Sorry this is not football. His body as of now can with stand a NBA career. I hope he gets stronger and bulks up about 15lbs but doesnt have too, to be successful. Just a like Reggie Miller of you ask me. This guy has that kind of talent. He can be a scoring champion one day. Yes, that kind of talent. Won't beat you in a bench press. So what.
More like Rip Hamilton or Jeff Malone. He is very effective inside the 3 point line, he hit 60% in that area.
Got a higher ceiling than Brandon Roy though. Up to the same point in their careers in college Lamb had a better career. At a better school. Very hard to pin him down on his potential right now. I have his floor above Nick Young though. His ceiling I cant find out until he plays.
As I said...not sure why those other guys shot up the board before Lamb. People have every right to be excited about him. I'm guessing it's just one of those things where scouts had the magnifying glass on Lamb all season and other guys like Ross and Beal just sorta shot up the boards the past few weeks for whatever reason. You can make the case he's the best SG prospect in the draft.
This kid is our only thing to look forward to. Liked what I saw when he played here in the championshio game. Some good potential.
agree with this. like someone else pointed out, rockets can and should trade royce white and terrence jones, but please keep this guy and trade kmart.
C - Marcus Camby or Free agent PF - Take your pick SF - Chandler Parsons SG - Jeremy Lamb or Courtney Lee PG - Goran Dragic or Kyle Lowry I sort of like this lineup, if you can dump some of the forwards.
This will change to a pretty good starter at SF or PF that nobody knows about. I assume maybe wrongly that Morey may trade for his plan B at one of these other positions using Kevin Martin, Scola, or a combination of them and Lowry plus one of our drafted players.
It's funny because a couple months ago, I was seeing Tmac comparisons for him. Then all of the sudden, it's like all of them came together and decided to switch it to Kevin Martin..
I think Lamb is the real deal. Hopefully we can keep him for the long term. It would be great to be able to watch him develop. He's going to be a stud. Here are all my highlights of him from last season... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3tnktoIjtiU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pkNruHc7YN4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dq5sEd7hsq8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
