Sigh. Not the best of picks.

Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ug_kfVQs6a0 from about 10 minute mark.

He's too small. Poor defence. Doesn't have the passing ability, turnover prone. He is a mid-range jumper specialist and a good 3 point shooter however.

Nope, lol relax LOF/LOH don't see him challenging Lin at PG starter.

    Chad Ford:

Isaiah Canaan 6-0 188 PG Murray State

In Canaan the Rockets get a point guard many teams seriously considered as high as the mid-first round. Canaan is a great athlete, can shoot the basketball and already has an NBA body. He's not a pure point guard, but he can really score.

Honestly this guy wouldn't even get minutes with Beverly still here. Why didn't we pick up a small forward since Rockets got literally nobody backing up Parsons right now?

The poll results are a worry :( The opposite outcome of the popular opinion happens here too often.

Best case scenario is this kid becoming our Eric Bledsoe or Nate Robinson. Highly unlikely though.

Figures to struggle on D due to height and average quickness.
How will he contain penetration at college level?
What about the size/quickness of NBA pgs.
Doesn't have an intrinsic defensive drive.

Daryl only drafted him because he went to Murray State.

Rockets STRENGTH is filling up the basket. He FITS into that.

Rockets also have a need a backup center. Nothing but stiffs or possible Euro stash players left in this spot.

It may not IMPROVE the team. But it doesnt detract.

Rockets weakness is letting the other team fill up the basket just as much ... or MORE at the other end. He probably fits into that as well.

He said PG that can play cannot last until the second round. I don't see where the controvsy is. he simply said PG that can play must be drafted in the first round. No need to play with the rhetoric.

I can't believe his draft video pretty much says his D sucks. Thought those video are meant to promote him.

If he can't defend at the college level, I think he's gonna get burnt in the NBA. There are loads of talented guards. Anyways, he probably wont get much playing time if at all.
