Royce White was a Cfans fav too. Just saying it's easy to say the right things.

Like most, I really like the pick.

I like that he's NBA ready and can shoot.

Sounds like somebody that stands a decent chance to make the team.

Different situation. Royce was a high profile fraud.... getting paid without doing much other than mouthing and stirring fights on the court

Canaan seems to be a genuine good guy, 3rd stringer for now and not much anticipated at 34th

I know zero about this guy, but I'm liking what I'm hearing.

He does sound like he was the primary ball handler, maybe the only decent one, on his college team. I wonder how his offensive skills would translate in an off-the-ball role.

I'm seeing him in a Toney Douglas kind of role, though.

He excels off the ball. His junior year, when Zay Jackson played a lot of point as a freshman, sip averaged nearly 20 points a game off of nearly 50% shooting from 3 on a 31 win Murray State team. When he can move around and get open he is deadly accurate from anywhere on the court. That year he got several 1st team all american honors. His senior year was set to be a repeat until Zay got into trouble in the offseason and was forced to sit out the season, leaving sip as the only ball handler on the squad. He literally had the ball in his hands 80% of the time last year and that inhibited his abillity to get open looks. Still a contested shot by sip was better than an open shot by the rest of our team most of the time.
I can say that when the clock is running out you do want him with the ball in his hands. In a stat that determines the number of points per possession with less than 4 seconds on the shot clock or something like that he was #1 in the country last year.
In case you don't know, Isaiah is referred to as 'sip' by his friends, teammates, and fans around Murray. A nickname he adopted when he came to Murray because of his roots in Mississippi.

    Thanks for the insight.

What would you say is his weakness? How is his defense?
