dunno. But, like most, he’ll go where the matrix of $, opportunity, community intersect.

Perhaps the most realistic 'very good first-round' pick we could get is ORL or NOP trading one of their (conditional) two picks. And I can't see KJ alone really motivating either of those teams.

(I would give up more than KJ for DysonD from the Pels though...)

Im not much of KJM fan, and from what I see (while he is on the bench) he doesn't seem a likeable locker room guy neither.
Never displayed any emotions for his teammates, always whith the frowny face probably for thinking he deserves better.

On court, he just dunks. Little effort on D; Inconsistent shooter.
He is far from being a lock... so I agree with trading him

So I hope he wins the dunk contest to boost his value.
And that KPJ is next or in the same trade package.

I am sure the Rockets are "seeking" a lot of things for their players.

Stone was "seeking" multiple #1's for Oladipo

Stone was "seeking" a pair of #1's for Tucker.... and Gordon... and Christian Wood.

What the Rockets want and what the get are not close to the same.

are we seeking to trade a known talent for an 'unknown' young prospect?
is that because the 'unknown' is cheaper in the coming 2-3yrs while the known is impatiently waiting for a reasonable long contract...smh

Good thing KJM isn't on this roster. :p

I agree, don't think he'll be a star but given the minutes he will definitely put up numbers.

It comes down to how good you think KMJ will be long term and how much money you think he is worth compared to what he will cost to resign.

I was and and still am a fan of KMJ, but I question his upside and long term fit for the Rockets. I personally would trade him if I got a pick in the 15-18 range.

Thing is, I like KMJ, and I sympathize with his plight (as a 54 year-old unathletic white guy, I cannot empathize, but I do sympathize). And I like what he brings. My question is, does his defense consist only of spectacular blocks? Seems like opposing small forwards often get career highs against us.

When we play the Mavs, watch the expression of unbridled glee on Luka's face, like a child getting a puppy on Christmas morning.

KJ is a good young role player, but he’s overrated on these boards. There’s much better wing options around the league, so he’s not untouchable.

Which is why I’m okay if we keep him. I just don’t feel like he’s untouchable

There is a bright side to this. At least we know that Stone starts at a high asking price.

The negative, his high asking price probably turns off people from even trying to negotiate. Lol.

KMJ is a good player who makes it look easy. His instinct, timing and approach to the game impresses me more than the dunks, and I don't think he's going as hard as he could. No one wants to get hurt while on the trading block. If/when he goes to a better organized team he's going to make the Rockets look very silly if they don't get a great pick in return.

I don't want him to be traded, but unfortunately there's just not enough time to go around for Jabari, Eason, and KMJ to all get meaningful minutes. The only way the Rockets get a win from this is if they package KMJ with another player like Gordon or KPJ for a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft. I think the only hold up is Rockets not wanting to take on a big salary from the player(s) coming in return.
