4 second round picks seems pretty worthless to us. We don't need more bodies, we need quality

I know many don't want to give-up KMJ but with Eason's potential it makes sense to cash in on him now. We can use the capital to aquire a PG which is what the team needs more than anything.

EG needs to go. The dude is like a shell of himself when he's out on the court.

Just doesn't seem happy here. :p

If he thinks he's getting two first rounders for KJ and Gordon, he's dreaming. I would be ecstatic if he could pull that off but it doesn't seem realistic.

No need to take any risks right now in the rebuild. Just trade Gordon for best offer available and sign a vet PG. We have plenty of future picks, potential offensive stars, potential defensive stars and 2 x max salary space in 2023. Can rent the cap space out for picks in the summer if we don't secure great free agents.

Maybe he's actually willing to take on some salary to get better picks. I wouldn't be opposed to that because we're heading towards renting out our 2023 cap space for picks anyway.

If it's 4 second round picks, then it should only be for Eric Gordon, and I wouldn't consider it a bad trade since a late first rounder is probably the best you can home for with Eric Gordon, and those 4 second round picks can potentially come in handy if they are further down the line.

I wouldn't mind a more established thing as you would know how to use it instead of burying the pick on the bench.

Just when the young core were going on a win streak you want pick galore?!!

Who gives the newcomers any minutes?

Gotta alter the objectives based on the ever changing situation.

You need Wemby and a healthy hierarchical structure and not more role players.

Multiple league sources said the Suns recently engaged in three-team talks that would have sent Crowder to Milwaukee, four Bucks second-round draft picks along with players to Houston, and Eric Gordon and/or Kenyon Martin Jr. to Phoenix. The hold up in the potential three-teamer was that the Rockets are coveting one first-round pick for Gordon, and for Martin a very good first-rounder, not a batch of second-rounders, according to sources. The Rockets have had interest in Gordon from several contending teams, sources said, but appear less willing to entertain the topic of Martin.

Martin has had a breakout third season, averaging 10.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 24.2 minutes while shooting 54 percent shooting from the field. The 21-year-old has this season and 2023-24 remaining on his contract and should command a strong extension next summer or a free agency offer in 2024. The Rockets have compiled eight first-round picks through 2029 and have a talented young core of players in Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith II, Tari Eason, Jae’Sean Tate and Martin.

Shams needs Chat GPT or a copy editor. "According to sources, the hold-up in the potential three-team deal was the Rockets' asking price of a first-round pick for Gordon, and a higher first-round pick for Martin, rather than the four second-round picks currently being offered."

Less words, less awkwardly. Plus that's not how you really use "covet" .

My only problem with this would be the "Eric Gordon and/or KJM" part.
What if KJM went and EGo stayed??

on edit: thought the thread title said rebounder, not first rounder. damn smart phone

He is 21 years old, and have 2.5 years of experiences. Everyone loves his game and passion. If "very good first rounder" doesn't mean top 10, I don't see a reason to trade him.

Plus he's the only one that cuts to the hoop effectively.
(Yeah Tate too; but he's not there, is he?)

Yeah not high on the 2nd rounders. Diamond in the rough is one thing but if you draft them that's another 2-3 years for 'evaluation'.

Do suns and bucks even have 'very good' first rounders? o_O Last two years, Suns' pick ended up being the 29th and 30th pick.

If Rockets stock the cupboard maybe for future years.

Follow up; do any teams want Tate?

Honestly, I think they'd be doing well to be getting a first round pick inside the top 20 for Gordon and KJ combined. If they could get a decent first round and 1-2 other assets, like 2nds or a young-ish rotational player, that's probably the best they can hope for. The idea that they're going to get two firsts for Gordon and KJ seems like some pretty wishful thinking.

4 seconds from Milwaukee and/or Suns is worthless.

    At least get a future 1st and a 2nd

Needs to be a lottery level pick for KMJ. I don't think he will be a star player, but he has some Shawn Marion esque qualities. I wouldn't be quick to let him go because at his age, there is still a lot of growth that can happen.

I don't think they are really expecting to get two firsts for KMJ and Gordon. I think they are just trying to put it out there that if you want KMJ, you are going to have to overpay for him.
