It seems like there would be a problem with the other team having to wear their home jerseys at Compaq....they would probably have to sign off too, at the minimum. You guys know those are just the tops of socks cut off on Steve's arms, right?
In a compromise (if permitted) I say we should just keep wearing the red & gold uniforms until we lose a game and see how far we go..
The Lakers haven't worn any retro unis this year, they've worn alternate uniforms. The Nets have their gray, the Bulls have their black, the Blazers have their red, and the Lakers have white now. The Nuggets wore theirs 4 games because it was all prescheduled stuff, not a spur-of-the-moment "hey, let's wear these uniforms just for the hell of it!" thing. But I'm all for retro, so everyone be sure to sign Miguel's petition back on page 1 and 2 to keep 'em. I dunno that it'll do anything, but we can hope...
For those of you who missed the link.... http://www.petitiononline.com/CCdotNET/petition.html I emailed the link to the Houston Rockets (who knows if they'll read/acknowledge it though)
If they won't let us wear them for the rest of the season, if we make the playoffs I could conceviably see them letting us wear them for the playoffs. I think it would be wonderful. 189 signatures so far!
I think the NBA is affraid that the Rockets might win all the games that they play if they wear those jerseys.
The arm bands that Stevie wore are actually the tube socks cut from the top. I saw them cut a pair of tube socks for him in the locker room area before the game. The yellow head band he got from a kid in the stands during the pre-game workout.
With those uni's on, the Rocks looked like a totally different team.....It was fun seein em again, I hoe the league lets us keep em for the rest of the season. How sweet would that be?
Yeah if the Rockets get the chance to wear the Old Uniforms for thef rest of the Season they just might convince themselves that they are good passers and aren't ball hawgs just like the back2back teams... Doh! It's just a uniform ;-) There is no magic pixie dust... buy IBM.
