Rockets Seek to Keep Old Uniforms

I loved the UNIs. THey looked so good, so bright. It was insane to see that. I wish they could keep the unis too. Here are some photos I have found...also posted in the Game thread.

I thought he was forced to take #45 because #23 was retired--and you can't wear a retired number, obviously. Then Jordan switched to #23 in the post-season, and from what I can gather on the Net, the NBA fined him for switching, though Jordan and his attorney contend that no such rule exists (there is one about shoes--Jordan was fined for wearing shoes that didn't have enough black on them).

At any rate, it's Jordan--if he wants "XXX" across his chest, he deserves it.

But has anyone noticed that Lakers have used their retro unis many times this season? Seems like I've seen them play in them for 3 or 4 games.

Of course, who says Rockets will get the respect Lakers do?

 

Listening to the second Rockets postgame show via Audio League Pass, some caller made a great observation saying the last time the Rockets wore a different uniform (the old ones, duh!) they scored 114 points in game 4.

How much did they score against the Magic this time?

114!!!!

 

Loved it. Bring 'em back now! Whoever came up with the current unis should be forced to undertake a Sisyphean task, like drink New Coke for eternity. This is like letting a little democracy seep into China... the only way to preserve the current evil is with tanks (or lawyers). The public and the players have spoken. Years of shame need to end now. LET OUR ROCKETS LIVE AGAIN!

 

i hope to see them again, being at the game tonight was like going back into a time machine. Awesome

 

Does anyone know if other teams got to wear their throwback jersies more than once? I know Lakers wore theirs many times. Is it just me or did it seem like all the other teams wore them more than just once.

I don't know if anyone asked this question already.

Why can't we?
WHY?

 

Unless they are guaranteed a championship in them I don't want them wearing them in the playoffs. I want the retro unis to go out on top like they did in '95.

kinda lame, huh?

the retros are "autobot" red. too bad they'll have to transform back to the pajamas next game. sigh.

From what I was told, the new uni's (red & silver) have a NEW logo and NO pinstripes. The overall design is supposed to be a return to a classic, traditional NBA uniform.

 

Red is a powerful color. Pinstripes, on the other hand, are wimpy. They should keep the retro uniforms for the rest of the season. However, there might be a contract that requires them to return to the pinstripes debacle.

 

I am counting the days until we can dump the crappy post-Championship unis. Those pinstripes have never grown on me. They suck.

 

I have an idea. 10 years from now, the Rockets can have an ugly retro jersey night vs. the LA Clippers.
