Rockets, Royce White issue joint press release. Suspension lifted, he's joining D-League Feb 11

I really just want to see him play. The drama is annoying.

I am hoping that he isnt assuming a couple weeks at D league means ascension to the rotation.

NO way. Royce will not be a part of the rotation this year. Maybe at the end of the season and we are out of the playoffs he might see some minutes, but otherwise I don't see him playing any meaningful minutes. He would have to play like the D-League MVP to get any real minutes with the Rockets.

His major realization: McHale is a co-worker of his. Les Alexander must have 'laid down the law hard.'

 

White is physically strong. He can hang with NBA guys. Just being physically ready is a plus. (Mentally ready will be an issue for quite a while.)

The basketballl issues are gonna be his defense, rebounding, shooting, and his effort when he doesn't have the ball. He improves those and he has a shot to get PT. Of course that is a lot to address. His style actually fits the team well.

 

Does anyone think Royce will be our key to winning in the playoffs if we make it this year? I feel like he's been our answer all along.

I just really want to see him play, aside from all the drama that happened. He is a great player on the court, everyone knows that. I really want to see it!

It shocked me that he didn't realise a college coach, who is usually also the head of the program has the spending, coaching and player list responsibilities, whereas an NBA team has a coach for coaching, a GM for player list responsibilities and a CEO for financial responsibilities.

 

Royce wont be key to anything this year. He may not get a minute of play period.

But if he is a good boy, and does well in practice and D league, and quits his twitter assaults, then maybe next year he will gain some real opportunity and minutes.

 

Royce actually fits our pf needs

He is strong post defender and rebounder

Elite passer who can create on offence

He even has some post moves.

 

His weakness is shooting

But harden shoots enough for whole team

 

Happy and relieved for both sides - definitely a good sign and a step in the right direction with this announcement. However, let's just say I will believe it when he actually plays at th Vipers. Would not count on the dramas are over from here on out. Be prepared for one step forward and two steps back.
