These Rox are far and away the greatest assembly of talent in Houston since Dream-Chuck-Clyde/Quitten. Each of the best players on this roster needs to realize that next season is critical for each of their careers. Whether the argument is that they are washed up (Steve and Bonzi) or just losers (TMac), these guys need to come together and put their egos aside. Lord, if only the Junkyard Dog would have signed on to help us get to where we need to be!!! Anyhow, I think this team works on almost any level and barring injuries (for the first time in years we can actually handle an injury!!!) we should be primed for a deep run. Has one state ever dominated a professional league the way Texas does today's NBA?

Sometimes players realize that the overall team is more imporant than the individual, when you have that type of atmosphere you get something magical.

The Spurs have it, and now I feel we are getting it.....and with the talent to make it matter.

    What an off season.

Things are looking great on paper, and I'm certainly excited about the next season. That being said there have been too many seasons that looked good on paper and didn't pan out to go over board at this point. I mean going into last year Bonzi and VSpan were according to many posters here the keys that would push us to the top and we all know how little impact they had. Same with Swift when we signed him a few years back, the year we traded SF3 for TMac, ect, ect all had people predicting titles. Blame it on the coach, blame it on the GM or who ever you want, but the reality is lots of teams look super talented on paper entering a year and don't produce champions. See Dallas last year.

I certainly like where we are now compared to when the season ended, but let's wait til the next season starts before we induct Morey into the basketball hall of fame and start predicting championships.

More if Yao starts getting screamy.

Boy, we're sure spreading the auto-fellatio around here! I really didn't want Francis. But he's here and God willing he'll be able to help in some way that does not involve dribbling for 23 seconds.

Nice post, DD. One of my biggest gripes in the playoffs was that I felt we were too soft. We didnt seem to get angry about getting outplayed so bad. Very nice post. :p

    i can't lie.

    this is exciting!!

sandpaper is right. these are the players we needed. EXACTLY.

it's almost scary how well the rockets are turning out. what an off-season.

it will be interesting to see what happens when the dust settles at the end of the bench...

If Adelman succeeds, he will be at the level of Phil Jackson and Pat Riley. This season and this team will be an exam of Rick's ability.

I'm like Hippie on this - I didn't really want Francis but now that we have him, I'll welcome him like any other Rocket. Hopefully, with Tmac and Yao, Stevie won't be expected to do much and we won't see the dribble, dribble **** that we got so used to seeing his first time around here. But yea, this team has made an amazing turnaround in terms of talent.

Well that exact scenario won't work, but there are various others that would. I'd like to see the Rox trade Justin Reed ( he can't be traded till the 14th of August) in any package. I'd prefer to get Haslem over Foster, I still remember how well he played in the Finals, and did a pretty good job fake nowitzki

Can the SF3 will have the ball for 23 seconds please die down. The league is totally different now and coach RA system does not allow for one player to keep the ball for that long anyways.
