Sigh... Dorsey's bigger, that's a factor here. mcHale talked after the last game how size in the paint is issue. Adrien is a tough cut, deserves to be in the league, but this is too much drama for an 11th or 12th man.
The intangibles off the bench...you can bring up his stats all you want, but he had a place on our bench...it'll lack a certain toughness without him
dorsey is 6'8 and looks a lot smaller on TV, tjones actually played bigger the San Antonio game but he always shows up against the spurs

as opposed to the last time we let him go and he made us look stupid? :roll eyes: I understand the dissapointment at not loosing a guy with the type of effort and hustle that Adrien plays with, but he is not the difference in what the Rockets will or will not do this season. Tarik Black clearly out played him in the preseason and brings more height with just as much hustle and effort. Joey Dorsey was hurt most of the preseason so its really hard to know what he can or can't do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the team releases Ish. He is just not an upgrade IMO over Canaan or even Nick Johnson (who is not even a true PG). Even thought Garcia was really really bad last season he (like Terry) is a veteran player that has been really good in this NBA.

I would take Adrien + Black over Dorsey + Black seven days out of the week. I am really upset about this.
Absolutely ludicrous decision Adrien is a much better player than Dorsey or even Black. Adrien has some legit double doubles in this league against real competition through hustle and toughness. That beats the pre-season of Black or the "best defensive center in Europe" Dorsey. Problem is Morey already gave all that guarnteed $$$$ to Dorsey so he would look stupid to cut him now. Les would have none of that. So Rockets are forced to cut the better and proven player in Adrien.
That's a damn shame about Adrien. I feel he's a better player than both Dorsey and Black but maybe his height held him back. If only Capela had stayed oversea, we could've kept him. I think Ish should be the final cut; we have plenty of small guards. Garcia has been on the team the past couple seasons and is a good locker room presence. Plus, if Ariza or K Pap gets hurt he can slide in and provide some minutes. Caanan is the backup point and if he can't handle it, we have Terry or Daniels to slide into that spot. Beverley/Caanan Harden/Terry/Daniels Ariza/Pap/Garcia Jones/Motiejunas Howard/Black/Dorsey D-League: Nick Johnson, Clint Capela Our bench is certainly grittier than last years.
