    no tax right cuz it's thru another country. But 170k is better than Dleague but not as good as 15th man on NBA roster.

    Sure, that's fair. Just surprised since a lot of players can command something closer to 7 figures.

    As a tax law neophyte, don't you still have to report earnings from work in a foreign country?

    NBA I believe the minimum for a less than 3 year guy is like close to 900k. Vets minimum is above 1 mill. Dleague guys make very low amounts like 15-20k it's better to work at a retail store than to play in dleague honestly.

    You definitely do, although a sizeable portion can be excluded via the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion. It's around 100k. There's also the Foreign Housing exception, and the Foreign Tax Credit.
