I'm not sure if that will happen, but I do think most are underselling Canaan.

The proper person to compare him to is Lin. During his time here, Lin evolved from a playmaker to a role player. He was shooting 3s and facilitating off the bench. I think Canaan can give that to us with more consistency and hopefully less turnovers.

We SHOULD NOT ask Canaan to run the offense, ala Harden. He may develop as a prime distributor at some point, but he isn't one now. Right now I want him to hit the open 3, drive to the basket aggressively when there's an open lane, and move the ball. I only want him to "do his thing" ala Harden when the play completely breaks down.

I really cant believe you guys freaking out like we cut a star. Its a player that is border line 12-13th man who would not have even played and you guys are freaking out over it? Im really confused.

The reason why there is concern is because of our fragile defense and rebounding in the frontcourt. We need every man that can contribute to the team. If Black plays at a high level, we may not miss Adrein I admit.

Our rebounding problems start and end with our PFs. I hope TJones and DMo take a step forward in this department this year. Howard/Black/Dorsey will get their share.

    These cuts make sense.

So who will be the guy to get the half court offense going when Canaan is on the court? Assuming he's not going to play alongside Harden/Bev 100% of the time, it'll be something to watch our backup backcourt. I really hope he succeeds but I am not completely confident in him.

As for Adrien, it stinks but it happens. Surely he'll sign on somewhere else right? He's a decent bench player.

Anyone who says they've seen enough of him to give you a firm "He's going to be this or that" answer is probably lieing to you. That's why I mentioned Giannis and Biyombo. Its incredibly hard to project these kinds of guys, and its pretty much a guess at how he's going to look when he's not dunking on 17 year old 6'4" Euros.

What we know is he has freakish length and athleticism. 2 years ago, everyone would be creating threads about him being the next great thing. This year, nobody gives a crap about young talent apparently, and just wants the next Chuck Hayes... which is great that we value guys like that, but you have to still be able to have a place for guys like this when you can snag one.

Alot of times they don't work out, but borderline NBA guys rarely do either. At least one of them has the potential to be something special.

a few weeks back i was actually looking for some combine numbers on him indicating verts/sprints/reps/etc to back this up, but couldn't find anything -- have you seen them anywhere? what's also not clear is his actual height/weight/reach/wingspan/etc. for example, i've seen 6'11" 222lbs on draft sites while the rockets site lists him at 6'10" 245lbs

Really disappointed Dorsey made it over Adrien. Definitely glad to to see Black make it though. Dorsey looked like trash in the preseason. Hope he can get in form as the season goes on.

Those are the draft measurements I see (6'11, 222), but I'm not so sure how accurate these are.

Here's the best combine measurements I see (not sure if these are from the NBA combine or a previous Eurocamp measurement).

    http://www.nba.com/sixers/news/clint-capela-draft-profile

Funny thing. I was at the game last Sunday or whenever when I was in town, and was sitting close to the tunnel. I remember thinking that either D-Mo's draft measurements are wrong or Capela's are wrong because they are pretty much the exact same height. And everyone says D-Mo is every bit of 7 foot. Could have been the shoes, or maybe just D-Mo's posture, but they are pretty much the exact same height when standing next to each other.

Only Capela's arms hang down to his knees & he's incredibly skinny. 222 lbs might be pushing it. Definitely looks more like a super long and tall 3/4 than a 4/5 right now.

I don't know if that answers much of any questions you'd have, but he definitely passes the eye test up close and personal. The dude is definitely tall and long by NBA standards.

Mark "We value chemistry" Cuban trying to re-create that title team

I agree with handing over some playmaking to pap. He has shown in a very short time in the NBA his play-making ability and courage in facing the best superstars in the game. I am referring to him taking initiative on Anthony Davis, to begin with. It takes someone putting it all on the line like that to bring in the trophy. Now we have three guys like that - Beverly, Pap, and Black- to carry the fire. Hopefully their play will spread rapidly amongst the team...and especially our starters.

Keeping Dorsey for his contract? This makes no sense.

1). So we have to keep him through his contract. How does that help?

2). Contract filler on a trade? Only if you add something that makes up for doing us a favor by eating his contract for us.

    3) How does keeping him help sign a max contract player next year? Cut Dorsey and keep Adrian. Guess what the Rockets cap is next year if they waive Adrian's rights next year? The same as keeping Dorsey and cutting Adrian. Meanwhile maybe we decide he's a keeper. Or maybe someone wants a positive player on a small contract as trade filler instead of dead weight.

Not keeping the best player but keeping trash for a <1mm contract is a very stupid act. If there is a max FA that is coming next year, there are other ways to find that million. No sense in keeping a mistake on the roster for a longshot that can be addressed later if we did get lucky.

Morey is too vain to admit what a screwup that contract is. He thinks he can still turn that poopoo plater into a meal.

All mchale wanted to see out of black was defence and rebounding and told him he wouldn't be in the nba if he couldn't. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Said the exact same thing to bev about playing harder than everyone else on the floor.

I'm officially way to excited, I'm rocking my Howard mustard jersey to my 4 hour exam today. LETS GO

It should not be the end of the world but Morey ought to learn from this.

Every year he is doing the same, cutting someone, someone goes Insanity, then he signs them back, giving them big bucks, at the end disposes them again, cycle continues

I mentioned it when they didn't sign him. They are going to miss him. Barrea has a contagious heart. Deshawn as well. These guys had a chip on their shoulders.

It feels like we are committed to 20 mill in low key players when we could just cut the bs and signed Lowry and Stephenson. Quality over quantity please.
