Yes, that is Chauncey Billups and Allen Iverson he is schooling, not some Conference USA stiff.......

    Who wants VON back?

    DD[/QUOTE]

That would be an excellent deal BUT, like durvasa said, I'm sure another team will offer him more than that.

I hope they can re-sign him as well. 2 or 3 year deal for 2mil is about right??

Brooks, Von, Ariza, Landry, Scola would be an intersting lineup...run and gun?? our defence would be terrible however

i dont get your infatuation with re-signing Von, mainly because you're hoping he bites on scrub money when both you and he think he's going to develop into something bigger. There's no way he settles this early for that kind of money..and if he's still around later because he's not getting better offers, then maybe that's a clue he's not worth it.

I think his behavioral issues outweigh his basketball upside. I would pass, actually.

I don't think he has had any offers yet, most of the time teams go for the big ones first, then the smaller deals start to take shape.

Von is in the $2 - $3 million a year range, ala Carl Landry last year.....if we can get him there, I think we should do it.

You can not get that sort of speed and athleticism from just anyone, he has ELITE speed, and the pressure he puts on opposing defenses is needed here in Houston.

10ppg in under 20mpg is danged good, and he was playing with a ginormous lane clogger in Yao....imagine what he could do in the open floor?

I want to see it !!! If we are going to rebuild let's make it exciting....RUN RUN RUN !!!

Alot of the rockets descision is going to depend on how Jermaine Taylor looks in the summer league. Im for resigning Wafer, but I want to see what his market value is first. Who knows what Morey has up his sleeve right now. I see a trade coming down the pike pretty soon and the MLE will probably help fill in some holes in the process.

2.8 feels about right. Hopefully if he gets 2-3yrs he won't feel as compelled to shoot so much in limited minutes. Currently he plays with a backup NFL QB mentality. The Rockets scoring options are so slim now though, Wafer may be 2nd option behind Brooks! Sigh... The Spurs 4th option swingman would start on our team :(

I'll pass. We already have enough wings to replace him just fine.

Save the money and get ready for 2010.

He doesn't have the ball handling skills to ever be a superstar.

Maybe, maybe not....he might be Danny Granger like and develop them, he already is miles better than he was.....

But he has already proven to be successful in the NBA......against ELITE competition......let's sign him up for some more.

And I love how a thread about a Rockets player and resigning him to a reasonable contract is getting pounded in the ratings.

    So sad, pettiness abounds.

you're right. but nobody is saying he is. he's starter material and if we can lock him up, we should.

The team should sign a Center and then make an offer to Von if he is still not signed.

Chris Mihm for the league minimum, or trade Tmac for a center and a bad contract....Camby or Biedrens and some contracts.

Resign Von.....sign our two rookies and send them to the NBDL to get better.

Lace em up and RUN to the rim all season long.

I would give him 3m for a 2 year contract the 2nd being a team option...I doubt he would take it but the Rockets need to have space to sign a big name in 2010

It seems like you gotta jab in there on Taylor.

Everyone knows your stance on Wafer and it's obvious that you re-sign Wafer at 2 million any ways.
