It is incredible the lack of intelligence on here, staggering.

That being said, it reads like someone is being traded, probably AB.

That is what the tea leaves say about this...otherwise there is no need for Ish to be on the big club.

Jared Jeffries got hurt and RGV doesn't play for 5 days.

That's plenty of reason for him to be up there, really.

That depends, we have Yao and Jeffries out, we need a third on the bench in street clothes, is it going to be Ish, or Miller?

I imagine it will be Miller in street clothes. Otherwise you're right, there would be no reason at all to call up Ish.

Yeah, but if he is going to be sent back to the Vipers, why bring him up....I guess just in case of emergency....but it seems they could do that at any point, right?

You are probably right though, that is probably why he is being called up.

I can't think of a reason for Ish to be with the Vipers if he's not getting game experience. Even if he's inactive, he could practice with us during this week.

In the past, the Rockets would bring up players sent to the NBDL during breaks in the game schedule that would allow for practice days. They would send players like Dorsey back to the NBDL, when the game schedule was packed and there was no time for practice in the NBA.

When the NBA schedule is packed, it allows the player to get more practice time and playtime in the NBDL. The NBDL typically only plays 2-3 days a week throughout the season except for February, when they cram the games together and make room for the D-League showcase. This week's schedule is nothing special compared to previous weeks. There were also 5 off days between January 1st-7th and January 12th-18th.

It's become a sort of myth, that this break in the D-league schedule is unique or different than previous breaks.

What does this have to do with anything I said? Smith was called to the D-league on the 17th. He got some games in. Now there's 5 days off and he's being brought back to spend time with his team.

People are making this too complicated.

Do you guys read the posts? There's no time for the Rox to practice this week. If anything he'd be better off practicing down with Rio all week, rather than riding the bench here and participating in shoot-arounds.

If Ish comes up because of Jeffries being injured and that reason only, then this is a bad move.

There is no practice time here, there is practice time there. What's so hard to understand? Rockets bring up NBDL players, when there is practice time here and send them to the NBDL when there is none here.

Have the Rockets ever sent a player down to the NBDL so that he could practice? I've never heard of that. We send them to the D-league so that they can get game experience. I think the Rockets would rather have Ish travel with the team and be available (if need be) then have him practice in the D-league.
