DMo still look like he can't get position in the post due to lack of bulk. I don't think this can change mid-season, but he needs to really bulk up Yao Ming style in the offseason.

He looked like he had no energy; didn't even run the floor like he always does. Have the Vipers been playing a lot recently?

I disagree, he was sprinting down the floor after every Jazz miss and make.

He does need a lot of work, but to say he's only good at making a set shot is inaccurate. He has very good post moves going to either hand, can put the ball on the floor really well for a 7 footer, and is a talented passer both off the dribble and out of the post. He was tight and rushed his shots tonight, which is understandable.

For a guy who has played 43 minutes in his NBA career and is a young 22, he's doing just fine. At some point, he's going to need consistent rotation minutes to iron out the kinks. Hopefully that comes this season, but I doubt it.

I love how DMo was running and cutting. A 7-footer that moves that fast. Should have run a ton of early offense post-ups since he's fast enough to sprint down to establish position instead of trying to muscle for it for 5 seconds. Would have had mismatches galore.

Yao lost the little mobility he had and became incredibly injury prone after the Rockets bulked him up. The last thing Motiejunas should do is follow the plan they put Yao on.

If DMo bulked up, we would have a Raef Lafrentz left-handed 3pt shooting stretch center, that can also post up on the low block with his moves and passing, be a PnR center that can pop as well as roll to the basket.

He would be too fast for the centers, and he wouldn't have to guard the stretch PFs of this league.

It make sense. Just don't know if he can actually put on weight.

Last night Dmo was running around like a chicken with his he'd cut off. He always looks like that too me; like he just did 5 rails of coke right before he walks out on the court. When he finally gets some extended minutes on a routine basis he'll settle down, and I think his game will improve. Right now he's so eager to make the most of his limited playing time, he's forcing things and his game becomes erratic.

He improved when he bilked up. We was a puny little b****.
They didn't bulk him up properly.

Yao was 7-6. Players that size, no matter their weight, always get hurt. While players that are 7-0 tall have had plenty of success bulking up. There's no reason Motiejunas can't bulk up to Pau Gasol level without being injury prone. That is, assuming he has the body type capable of adding those muscles.

Bosh's outside shooting was crucial to the Heats' success in the playoffs.
Specifically, his shooting took Kevin Garnet and Perkins/Ibaka out of the paint and made them hesitate just enough from helping LBJ drive to the basket.
In fact, without his ability to stretch the floor, the Heat would have failed to get our of the Eastern Conference.

DMO should emulate Gasol. While he doesn't have Gasol's excellent hands and wingspan, he does have a nice first step to the basket and some pretty nifty post movies. As a few of you have already said, the kid does need to bulk up some more, moreso on his lower body. He has a hard time keeping his balance and staying on his feet against the more physically aggressive 4's.

Did you seriously just quote your own post to say how good it was!?

It would be a mistake to bulk up Motiejunas. Utah bulked up Koufos, and he just started to return to his previous level before they bulked him up this year.

Like patterson can do any better. patterson gets like over 20 minutes a game, and still can't average more than 4 rebounds a game whether he boxes out or not. is d-mo not boxing out really the reason why he's not playing? lol.
