Scola is such a loyal warrior. He is not some hired assassin like mofohead Drew Gooden.

He totally deserves this contract. In my opinion, he is actually very underpaid at this rate. Name me one other PF thats paid as much as he is paid and puts up the same productive numbers

Maybe...if one is there to be made, a lot has to happen between then and now.

No guarantees that anything will shake loose worth persuing.

Five years at big money seems a stretch for a player who's already not very athletic. Hopefully that one doesn't come back to bite us in the ass. If anyone deserves it though it's definitely Scola. Can't wait for the season!

Rockets in the LT by ~$5.1-5.2 million after signing Patterson and waiving Johnson, Harris.

15 million combined for Scola and Lowry. That's about 4 million more than I expected it would be.

Fairly reasonable - my only quibbles are that I think Miller, if he's here, gets 20+ while Yao is at the 25 stage. Also, I think you can give the 6 minutes at SG to Budinger from Ariza... I think Chase is experienced enough and athletic enough that he stays at the 17-20 minutes/game range at a minimum.

I'm certainly glad we kept Luis. He knows how to win. But I can't help but think we overpaid. I was thinking somewhere more in the neighborhood of 4 years $32 million.

I'm super worried about AB now. He's worth more than Lowry and Scola IMO and there is no way to keep both Yao and AB next summer. AB may be some good trade bait, though. I hope Lowry is taking 1000 jump shots a day or we're stuck with a stronger version of Rafer Alston, the bricklayer.

Those who have voted "No" so far in this thread are cheap *ss basterds who don't know how to appreciate an ideal NBA player who plays 100% all effort, all heart, all passion, and 0% ego.

Ya'll can go get your Darko's, Gooden's, underachieving Brand's and unloyal Boozer's in the world.

I repeat an earlier post of mine in this thread.

Luis Scola will re-sign with Rockets to a five-year, $47 million contract with a partial guarantee the last season, his agent told Y! Sports

Bingo. DM never lets assets get away for nothing, he sees it as a waste. The Rockets spent 3 years developing Scola is a valuable asset and then they're just going to give him away after his value is at his highest? Won't happen with DM. He maximizes value out of everything.

    Huh....
I think that it is too much for a 30 years old man...
    ..
So....how is our cap space now?
any room to sign some impact players?

We can resign Yao and AB, I think Yao will get paid what he gets now and we can increase AB's pay (and others playing time) by letting Battier and Jeffries go.

We got ourselves a good nucleus for several years to come, PG Lowry, SG Martin,SF Ariza,PF Scola. Now just need a center in Yao
